The club announced late on Tuesday the signing of Koke Vegas. The Andalusian goalkeeper arrives in order to compete with Dani Giménez in a loan spell negotiated with Levante UD.

Deportivo announced on Tuesday the signing of Andalusian goalkeeper Jorge Ruiz Ojeda, also known as Koke Vegas (the nickname comes for been his father's name). The 23-year-old player arrives loaned from Levante UD and will compete with Dani Giménez for the spot at the goal.

Koke is considered as a promising goalkeeper that still has to earn a starting spot in professional football. He completed 19 Segunda B appearances with Espanyol B between 2013 and 2015, then he signed for the B squad of Levante UD and had his best career at Segunda B been the starting keeper of the team (33 games as a starter).

Since then he has been moving between been the third keeper of Levante’s first team and playing loaned at other clubs like Alcoyano. Last season he only played once and it was for the closing matchday at Primera as Levante UD drew 2-2 with Atlético Madrid at the Ciutat de Valencia (May 15).

Koke is the fifth signing for Deportivo ahead of the Segunda season 2019/20. The previous reinforcements that joined the club are centre-back Vassilios Lampropoulos, winger Borja Galán, plus playmakers Ager Aketxe and Gaku Shibasaki.
