PEDRO SÁNCHEZ LEAVES DEPORTIVO

28 Aug 2019
Playmaker Pedro Sánchez has rescinded his contract with Depor; it is a surprise though the club clarified that it a forced decision as the player has personal issues and cannot continue in A Coruña.

On Tuesday the club informed that Pedro Sánchez has rescinded his contract with Deportivo. It was a big surprise as his exit wasn’t expected, but the club and the player clarified that its personal issue that’s forced the player to leave as he cannot stay in A Coruña. Hours later the player was announced at Albacete Balompié signing a 2-year-contract.

The player wrote a letter to the fans and explained that, “It was a tough decision, familiar issues have forced me to say good-bye and I hope you all understand it. I am closing a stage in my career that I will never forget.”

The Alicante-born playmaker arrived on last summer to Depor and he lasted in finding a starting role at the first team of Natxo González; the coach never found a spot for him and he never demonstrated anything special on the field, perhaps conditioned by a draw that didn’t suit his skills. It was until the arrival of Martí that he started to grow. He was the player that benefited the most after the switch into the 4-4-2 system, to the point of becoming the best player of Depor in the last stretch of the league, time when he scored three of his four goals on the season.

Deportivo have now released eight men that were under contract ahead of the new season. The first one was goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, who was loaned to AC Omonia Nicosia. Later centre midfielder Edu Expósito and striker Quique González were transferred to SD Eibar. Juanfran Moreno rescinded his contract in order to sign for Turkish club Alanyaspor, while Pedro Mosquera did the same to end at SD Huesca. Left-back Gerard Valentín was loaned to CD Lugo and the previous exit was the loan of Fede Cartabia to Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli.
