Transfer news

The summer window ends on Monday and Deportivo are in a hurry; the Galicians want to get rid of Rolán and are urged to at least sign three new players.

The transfer market closes its doors on Monday and Deportivo are now in a hurry with only four days for the deadline. The defeat at SD Huesca left the feeling that there are a lot of flaws at the squad that need a fix and that those solutions can only be found outside the club.

And the centre of everything is Diego Rolán, the Uruguayan striker isn’t part of the plans for the new season due to his high wages and Deportivo are desperately searching for his exit. Without him leaving there won’t be enough room to make multiple signings, this due to the salary cap rule.

For that reason the club allowed the player to travel to Mexico in order to search for a new destiny. América seemed to be his destiny, but according to local reports, other teams like Toluca, Tigres and Monterey are also interested. It’s expected that a final announcement will be made before Sunday.

And the problems became bigger on Tuesday after the club announced the unexpected exit of Pedro Sánchez, who rescinded his contract due to a family problem.  This means that Depor need an additional winger.

It’s speculated that, totally, Deportivo are targeting to make three or four more new signings before Monday’s deadline, one of them is left-back Salva Ruiz (24, Valencia CF). This arrival depends on the negotiations with the Valencians, because there’s already an agreement with the player.

The other signings could be a new centre midfielder plus two wingers. One of the comments is that the club could end up advancing the position of Diego Caballo, who already played as a winger at Fabril and other teams. Thus, the club will only sign one more winger as the arrival of Salva Ruiz will keep the number of left-back defenders in two.
