Anquela only has 18 players available for the game, Somma is doubtful after been replaced against SD Huesca.

Tough week for Deportivo, the defeat at SD Hueca left a wound as the fans and the media doubt that the squad can match the level to aspire to promotion, and to make things worse there were negative news regarding the transfer window as the club is still having unfinished business with the market closing its doors on Monday.

On Wednesday playmaker Pedro Sánchez rescinded his contract, one day later it was known that striker Diego Rolán traveled to Mexico in order to close his transfer/loan. This leaves the first team of Deportivo only composed by 19 players.

And ahead of the visit to Rayo Vallecano (Estadio de Vallecas, Sunday, 18h00 CET), centre-back Peru Nolaskoain is out after been operated from appendicitis, he suffered the issue on last weekend and will be out for a month. Therefore, Juan Antonio Anquela only had 18 players available for the meeting, at least until Friday.

Because on Friday, the club reported that the scans made to Michele Somma detected a sprain on is right knee; the centre-back was replaced in the game at SD Huesca, but minutes before the medical report came out, Anquela stated that they will wait until Saturday in order to determine if the Italian player is fit to play.

In case that Somma isn’t available, then Anquela will have to pick up a player from Fabril and the main candidate is Mujaid Sadick, who could be a starter performing at the centre of the defence.
Also, Diego Caballo is available, though he needs a protection in the face after suffering a nose fracture in the opening game with Real Oviedo.

Rayo Vallecano arrive to the meeting after been unable to keep the advantage in the first two games, both ended in draws against CD Mirandés (2-2) and Sporting Gijón (1-1). Like the case of Deportivo, they are also searching for players in the last days of the market. Left-back Antonio Luna was signed on Thursday, same day in which centre-back José León rescinded his contract.

Luna might start against Depor, because Tito is suspended after been sent off against Sporting Gijón. Coach Paco Jémez also has the doubt of centre-back Abdoulaye Ba, who hasn’t trained during the week due to a back problem.
