Squad news

Anquela has a new squad, literally. The five signings made on deadline day are on the roster and three of them are expected to start. Albacete arrive with only one goal in favour and it was an own goal.

Referee: Luis Mario Milla Almendiz

Kick-off: 16h00 CET (Riazor)

Deportivo and Albacete Balompié might be arriving to the game in a similar scenario, carrying the disappointment of failing in the last playoffs, with three points and after losing two of the first three games, but they are showing a very important weakness that turns to be the opposite of the one suffered by the rival.

In the case of Deportivo, the Galicians are the worst defence in this start of season after allowing eight goals in three games. Meanwhile, Albacete Balompié is the worst offense with only one goal scored so far, and that was an own goal in the 1-0 win over Girona FC; so Los Albinegros arrive to the meeting without any goal scored by their own players.

Also, Albacete Balompié have never won at the Riazor after ten league visits; they lost eight times there and only picked two draws, the last one in the Primera season 2004/05 (0-0).  They have remained scoreless in their last four visits to the Riazor, including last season’s 2-0 defeat.

Coach Juan Antonio Anquela suddenly found himself with five new players at the squad, but also with restrictions ahead of the game with Albacete Balompié, because he has casualties that reduced the number of available players to only 17, so he had to pick a player from Fabril in order to fill up the gaps. In the end at least four changes at the lineup are expected in a team that wants a new beginning after a poor start in liga.

Team news: There are four players at the injury room: Peru Nolaskoain, Borja Valle, Longo & Somma. Also, Gaku Shibasaki is concentrated with Japan. Therefore, there were only 17 players available and Anquela included in the roster all the deadline day signing: Salva Ruiz, Saša Jovanovic, Javi Montero, Beto da Silva and Victor Mollejo, the latter joined the team on Friday after been concentrated with U-19 Spain. David Sánchez from Fabril was also picked in order to fill the gap.

Man to watch: Centre-back Javi Montero. The 20-year-old defender just completed three sessions with the team and will start the game due to the casualties hitting the team, all of this in a team having defensive problems after allowing eight goals in just three matchdays.

Picked players: (18) Dani Giménez, Koke Vegas (goalkeepers); David Simón, Eneko Bóveda, Vassilios Lampropoulos, Javi Montero, Salva Ruiz, Luis Ruiz (defenders); Álex Bergantiños, Vicente Gómez, Borja Galán, Ager Aketxe, Saša Jovanovic, Víctor Mollejo, David Sánchez (midfielders); Mamadou Koné, Christian Santos & Beto da Silva (attackers)

Predicted lineup: (4-2-3-1) Dani Giménez – David Simón, Lampropoulos, Javi Montero, Salva Ruiz – Álex Bergantiños, Vicente Gómez – Jovanovic, Aketxe, Borja Galán – Koné.
There’s a sense of sorrow among the fans after the closure of the summer window, because offensive changes were expected after the team has failed to score in three matchdays, but the club preferred to reinforce midfield territory and only made one signing on deadline day. The fans are hoping to see the team repeating last season performance with Los Albinegros reaching the playoff stage against odds, now there are doubts regarding the team’s depth.

But the sporting director of the club, Mauro Pérez, said after the closure of the market that nothing is done before playing the games and that the fans should keep the faith, "We are still the same ones that arrived when the club was drifting, the same as last year when we were fortunate enough to have all the circumstances in favour to see Alba making a historic year. If we lose all humility and the point of view of knowing who we are, then we will be wrong, because in the end we are in a very competitive league, 50% of the league doubles us in social mass, many in budget, although that’s no excuse to not demand the maximum. The calm is total and absolute, this is just the beginning and we should not fall into the error of disrespecting the players who are going to defend our shirt."

Team news: Coach Luis Miguel Ramis sees how the offensive problems of his team got worse with the absence of Rei Manaj and Pedro Sánchez, the first is concentrated with Albania, while the latter is ineligible to play against Depor. Midfielder Eddy Silvestre surpassed his injury and is on the roster, also deadline day signing Leonardo Capezzi.

Man to watch: Striker Roman Zozulia. Albacete are worried as the team is lacking goals and the Ukrainian attacker should be the one carrying with this responsibility, last year he was one of the top-scorers of the team with 11 goals scored (tied with Jérémie Bela).

Picked players: (18) Tomeu Nadal, Gabriel Brazão (goalkeepers); Álvaro Arroyo, Fran García, Alberto Benito, José Antonio Caro, Ivan Kecojević (defenders); Diego Barri, Néstor Susaeta, Leonardo Capezzi, Álvaro Jiménez, Roberto Olabe, Karim Azamoum, Eddy Silvestre, Manu Fuster (midfielders); Roman Zozulia, Javier Acuña & Dani Ojeda (attackers)

Predicted lineup: (4-2-3-1) Tomeu Nadal - Benito, Arroyo, Kecojević, Fran García – Barri, Azamoum - Álvaro Jiménez, Manu Fuster, Dani Ojeda - Zozulia.
