REVIEW: ARENTEIRO 0 – FABRIL 0 (TERCERA)

10 Sep 2019
Fabril remain without coinciding goals, but this is their second goalless draw on the road. The lads faced problems against a rival that put pressure and that had more chances to score.

BEFORE THE GAME
Coach Luisito was recovering Mujaid Sadick, Jorge Valín and David Sánchez, the latter was picked by the first team for the home game with Albacete, but he didn’t have minutes and in the end the coach decided that he shouldn’t take part of the game. Meanwhile, Manu Mosquera and Iñigo Reinoso were out injured, also Ukrainian Yevhen Pidlepenets was still waiting for a working permission.

THE MATCH
Third match on the season and third clean sheet for Fabril, the lads had a strong start, though later faced problems against a willful rival. Fabril started better and dominated the actions, the first chance to score came after Javi Sánchez collected a loose ball and dribbled local goalie Rui Filipe, but later his crossed shot missed the target (15’).

With the passage of the minutes, Arenteiro improved and had more presence in attack, it was then that Álex Cobo started to save his team. Joni missed the target in the first warning of the locals (26’), two minutes later Cobo deflected a shot of Ivaloteli that later hit the woodwork.

At the end of the first half, Álex Cobo appeared twice to save his team. First saving at the goal line an attempt from Fajardo (38’), and later blocking a strong shot from Emilio firing from the edge of the area (41’).

The second half was slower and equal, Fabril tried to push in attack and Luisito refreshed the attacking line with the entries of Pedro Alves and Iago Novo. But the lads met a wall and were unable to create scoring opportunities, their best chance was a lateral free-kick in which Mujaid was unable to push the ball in (56’).

Then Luisito decided that a point is enough as Arenteiro started to increase the pressure, so he replaced striker Mario Losada with Iago Parga and the team had now three centre-backs on the field, and Fabril ended the game defending after Javi Sánchez was sent off at the last minute due to an aggression.
