La Liga revealed the salary caps at Segunda División. Depor reduced its cap in seven million euros and is now the sixth highest in the league.

With the summer market closed, La Liga released the salary caps at Primera and Segunda División. As it was expected Depor reduced its limit as it no longer has the aid of the relegation assurance. The new top is €11.35 million, which is a reduction of €7 million compared to the €18.51 million of the previous campaign.

The Galicians are now the sixth highest salary cap at Segunda División. As it was also expected, the three sides relegated from Primera, SD Huesca, Rayo Vallecano and Girona FC, are among the top clubs in the league.

The surprise is to see UD Almeria at the third place, the Andalusians have a new owner, Turki Al-Sheikh, and he has raised the financial status of the club through new sponsoring contracts and directly investing money in the club. He tried to convince La Liga to raise their top through a series of new Saudi sponsors, but they were skeptical and didn’t accept those contracts at the moment of calculating the top, now the owner will raise the club’s capital in €31 million in order to be among the top two places ahead of the winter window.
