Referee: Juan Luis Pulido Santana
VAR Official: Santiago Varón Aceitón
Kick-off: 21h00 CET (El Molinón)

The alarm bells are raising at Deportivo after losing three of the first four games at Segunda, in April the Galicians also lost three straight games, but this poor start at the second tier hasn’t been seen since the campaign 1988/89, at the time Arsenio Iglesias’ Depor also won the first game and lost the following three to later end the campaign at mid-table

Neither it has been a good start for Sporting Gijón, the Asturians have only added five points and already lost once, but they already visited two of the three recently relegated clubs, Rayo Vallecano and Girona FC.

This is the 32nd visit of Depor to Sporting playing for a league competition, the Galicians lost the first seven in a row, but within the last eight they won three times and clinched two draws. The last game there was last season’s 1-2 victory with goals from Álex Bergantiños and Christian Santos.

Coach Juan Antonio Anquela is ready to give continuity to the team that lost against Albacete. Despite the final result, he is convinced that his team is progressing and will present almost the same lineup, the only expected change is the return of Gaku Shibasaki. During the week he tested with Christian Santos leading the attack, but it’s expected that Mamadou Koné will remain playing as centre forward.

Team news: Four men stay at the injury room: Borja Valle, Samuele Longo, Michele Somma and Peru Nolaskoain. Gaku Shibasaki. returns after been concentrated with Japan. New signing Beto da Silva wasn’t picked for the game, so Fabril’s David Sánchez remains on the roster.

Man to watch: Playmaker Ager Aketxe. The best player so far for Deportivo during this season, in a tough environment the set-pieces from the Basque player could be the key.

Picked players: (18) Dani Giménez, Koke Vegas (goalkeepers); David Simón, Eneko Bóveda, Vassilios Lampropoulos, Javi Montero, Salva Ruiz, Luis Ruiz (defenders); Álex Bergantiños, Vicente Gómez, Gaku Shibasaki, Borja Galán, Ager Aketxe, Saša Jovanovic, Víctor Mollejo, David Sánchez (midfielders); Mamadou Koné & Christian Santos (attackers)

Predicted lineup: (4-2-3-1) Dani Giménez – David Simón, Lampropoulos, Javi Montero, Salva Ruiz – Álex Bergantiños, Gaku – Mollejo, Aketxe, Borja Galán – Koné.
Sporting Gijón have only two more points compared to Depor, but the feeling left by the team is much different. The media has emphasized their defensive strength in the two visits against recently relegated clubs, and the Asturians are only worried by the lack of aim in attack. The game against Depor is a good opportunity to recover the pace towards the goal of promotion.

Team news: Coach José Alberto López is having the casualty of midfielder Pedro Díaz, who is suspended after been sent off in the last game, Nacho Méndez should claim his spot if the coach decides to keep the draw, but if he wants to play with a 4-4-2, then Álvaro Vázquez will be a starter alongside Uroš Đurđević, the latter should be a starter after surpassing a knock.

Man to watch: Striker Uroš Đurđević. The Serbian is the offensive reference of a team that has only scored four goals on the season. He was the top-scorer of the Asturians during the previous Segunda campaign (11) and now is searching for his first goal since May (Matchday 37, 2-1 loss at RCD Mallorca).

Picked players: Roster to be available until Sunday.

Predicted lineup: (4-2-3-1) – Mariño - Molinero, Babin, Borja López. Damián Pérez - Javi Fuego, Nacho Méndez - Carmona, Manu García, Aitor García – Đurđević.
