Depor’s coach was justifying the work of the team within the last three games, though he also admitted the defensive errors. The players hope the team can improve and that this could be a turning point.

Coach Juan Antonio Anquela was defending what Depor have done within the last three games, “The result tastes like justice and like sacrifice. The team never stopped working within what we can do and playing against a great rival. We have created enough chances to not have lost this game. Sometimes it goes in one direction, and in others it goes the other way.”

“I believe we are working pretty well; we have spent two and a half games making things with criterion and personality, and in that frame we only added a point. But I insist that we believe in what we are doing, and we are not going down for any reason.” He added.

Questioned by the substitutions, the Andalusian coach explained that, “We have only removed people that were booked or tired and nothing more. We ended with Borja [Galán] playing as a right-back. We at least had to try until the last second, and we were fortunate today to find the goal, but we sought for that fortune.”

He continued defending his substitutions, “We have risked as we played with all the offensive people that we had, nothing more. We couldn’t allow to stay in the same path. We had a couple of good chances and were well organized, we never surrounded to have a line of four defenders and only played with Borja [Galán] as right-back. We attacked with Mollejo and had a second striker as Koné. Saša [Jovanović] entered at one side and Christian Santos was up front. We attacked with everything. So, we did what we should.”

Anquela was also asked by the decision of VAR at the moment of conceding the penalty to Depor, “I was wishing it was a penalty; I just saw a very similar play to last weekend, very similar. The rules have changes and nothing more. I only wished it was penalty, but I haven’t seen it again.” Finally, he admitted that his team is still making big defensive mistakes, "Their goal was a sum of many errors from us. I told the players at half-time that we had to comeback and it was difficult."

Álex Bergantiños was commenting the game, "I think we have played a very complete match in the same line that the one against Albacete. We started badly with a conceded goal, but we had the personality to try until the end. “

“We have been brave and have been rewarded with the tie. We lacked clarity on the last pass, but we will improve as we get to know each other better. We want to continue correcting, in addition, we want to clinch a clean sheet, but the impression left by the team has been good playing against a very intense rival.” The midfielder added.

Christian Santos was feeling sorry for the lack of aim in attack, “I'm glad for the point, we deserved it. There are small details defensively. It was one, two or three counterattacks that were dangerous, but what we have to improve is in the details upfront. If we had a little more aim, then we would have added the three points.”

At Sporting Gijón, coach José Alberto López was feeling sorry, because his team dropped two points in the last play, "I think in the end we have been stupid. In the first part we didn’t feel comfortable, with too many inaccuracies, we fell into the trap of Depor, with balls in the inside. In the second we were better, not losing the ball too often, but when you don’t manage to kill the matches... these are matches of details and those details are not falling on our side, hopefully this story changes and if not, we are annoyed."

"People have enjoyed with the team, we are leaving annoyed, but I think that El Molinón has enjoyed moments of very good football. In the second part we corrected the mistakes that prevented us from controlling the game. In two isolated plays, the shot of Aketxe and the one at the end, the tie arrived.” He ended.
