Anquela continues to fail with his tactics and Deportivo still giving for free the first halves. The debutants as starters played a bad game and therefore Depor live their worst start at Segunda in 30 years.

The five notes from the game Vs. Girona FC:

1- The same plane Deportivo in a first half: Once again Deportivo showed a plane game in a first half, if the last two games at home were characterized by its poor level in the first half, now it wasn’t a different story at Montilivi. Depor ended the half without any chance created or shot, the Galicians didn’t even earned a corner-kick after 45 minutes. The team only improved in the second part and when it was trailing 2-0. And it’s that Depor have only been ahead on the scoresheet in two games, and in both occasions they were leading 2-0 and the rival equalized the game (Oviedo only rescued by Christian Santos and Numancia). It’s hard to win a game when a team gives away the first half and allows the first goal.

2- The mistakes in the output of the ball: Deportivo have been unable to find a clean way to manage the output of the ball, and in this game it paid a high price for it, because two of the three goals came in errors when the team was attempting the transition defence-attack. In the first a pass from Bóveda was too delayed for Nolaskoain, and the rival seized it with a counterattack and a goal. And when Depor believed in the comeback, the third goal arrived after Lampropoulos lost the ball at midfield as he was attempting to join the attack, again the defense was misplaced and the goal was inevitable.

3- The incomprehensible tactic of Anquela: Anquela was praising the level of the team in the visits to Cádiz CF and Sporting Gijón, but it turns out that the team played better in those games when it have three midfielders on the pitch, and for this game he keep the same formation of the disappointing game with CD Mirandés, he just changed some names and the final outcome was the same disappointment.

4- Bad game for the “new” faces: The hopes of the fans were with the three deadline day signings that debuted as starters: Saša Jovanović, Peru Nolaskoain and Samuele Longo. But their performance was beyond disappointing. The Serbian winger had a terrible game, he only stayed for 59 minutes and was caught in offside position during 4 opportunities and his passing accuracy was only 42% (12 attempts). The Basque midfielder was a little better, with an accuracy of 71% (38 attempts), but he was involved in the error of the first goal. Then the Italian striker passed unnoticed, he only completed one shot and his passing accuracy was poor (67%, 12 attempts).

5- The worst start in 30 years: Depor already spent 8 matchdays without a victory, the team is about to tie the negative streak of last season that cost the job to Natxo González (9). This is also the worst start at Segunda División since the season 1987/88, at the time the team only had 7 points after 9 matchdays. Eusebio Ríos started the season as the head coach as he was sacked after 7 games.
