With the end of the first round around the corner, the league seems to be a matter of Cádiz CF and a lot of teams trying to lie close to the playoff zone. Racing changed the coach and Depor remain at the bottom.

A late goal from Rayo Vallecano prevented a new win for Cádiz CF (1-1), but the Andalusians remain comfortably living at the top. They have a nine-point lead over the second place, so the league seems to be a battle between the rest in which anyone has an opportunity in order to reach the playoffs.

And it’s that the distance between relegation and the sixth place is also nine points, so a team like CD Lugo, that was in relegation shortly ago, is now only four points under the playoff zone after clinching back-to-back wins.

There were two big winners in this matchday among the teams at the promotion zone. SD Huesca dispatched Real Oviedo (3-1) and are now the runners-up, their best position on this season. The other big winner was CD Numancia, their surprised in the visit to Sporting Gijón (0-1) and it’s their third straight win, they are fifth now.

Almeria UD are third now, they haven’t lost within the last six games, but five of those results were draws. Guti debuted at the bench and couldn’t prevent a new tie, this time hosting Real Zaragoza (1-1). Meanwhile, Fuenlabrada didn’t pass from a goalless draw at Málaga CF.

Girona FC are now seventh after chaining two straight victories, in this matchday they defeated CD Tenerife at home (1-0). SD Ponferradina is another club that has spent six games without losing, they drew in the visit to Racing Santander (2-2) and are eighth at the standings. They are tied in points with Albacete Balompié, side that lost for the second time in a row, in this opportunity hosting CD Lugo (0-1). UD Las Palmas and AD Alcorcón drew 1-1 and are waiting to get a positive streak in order to enter into the promotion places.
