MATCHDAY 19: NO BIG CHANGES

The first seven places kept their positions, while Málaga CF left the relegation zone. Depor suffer a new step back and start to lose hope.

It was a matchday with only a few surprises, among them to see Cádiz CF only getting a point in their home meeting with Elche CF (0-0). The Andalusians are losing steam; now they only have a five-point advantage at the top after only winning one of the last five games.

Meanwhile, UD Almeria clinched a third straight win after coming from behind in the second half hosting CD Mirandés (3-1). They have spent ten games without defeats, which is the best current streak in the league. SD Huesca was the only team at the top that lost during this matchday, they were surprised at home by Rayo Vallecano (0-2).

They kept the third place as CF Fuenlabrada could only rescue a point in the visit to Racing Santander (2-2).  Girona FC have the second-best streak in the league after spending seven straight games without defeats, in this matchday they dispatched CD Lugo (3-1).

Real Zaragoza kept the sixth spot after a 1-3 win visiting Deportivo. The first change at the standings appear at the 8th position. CD Numancia lost visiting UD Las Palmas (3-1) and the Canarians claimed the position and are now only two points behind the promotion zone.

Málaga CF was the big winner among the teams fighting to survive in the league, their 2-0 win over CD Tenerife pulled them out of the pit and dragged the Canarians into the danger zone. Extremadura UD claimed a valuable point in their visit to Albacete Balompié (1-1), but remain penultimate at the standings.

Real Oviedo clinched back-to-back wins for the first time on the season and moved three points above relegation after a 1-3 win visiting AD Alcorcón. Sporting Gijón are also breathing fresh air as they won for the first time in six matchdays, this after a 1-0 win over SD Ponferradina. The side that remains to be depressed is Deportivo, the Galicians are in deep problems and are now eight points behind safety.

MATCHDAY 20 & 21: BUSY WEEK TO END 2019
The Segunda clubs will enter Copa Del Rey during next week, so all the clubs will have to play three games in a frame of ten days.  For Deportivo it will be a complicate week, on Saturday they visit SD Ponferradina, on Monday the club has its shareholders meeting, one day later they debut in Copa visiting CF Illueca and close the year on next Friday hosting CD Tenerife. It will be an intense week taking in mind the current situation of the club.
