LUIS CÉSAR LEAVES DEPORTIVO

28 Dec 2019
The club announced late on Friday that Luis César in no longer the coach of Deportivo. It was the first measure taken by the new board commanded by Armenteros.

The instability at the bench continues. Luis César Sampedro was sacked late on Friday. It was the first measure taken by the new board lead by Juan Antonio Armenteros, who landed at the club just hours before this announcement.

Paco Zas left Deportivo early on Friday and he went out early [it was said before the board will stay until January 14], this for to the pressure from Fernando Vidal, who later criticized the attitude of the former president for not taking the needed measures before, among them firing Luis César.

Ironically, Sampedro was fired despite winning the last two games. The Galician coach arrived at the beginning of October in order to correct the negative run had with Juan Antonio Anquela, but he was only able to pick four points in his first ten liga matches.

The team had to wait until the final two games in 2019 in order to reunite with the victory. First Los Blanquiazules defeated CF Illueca in Copa and ended the year with a suffered victory over CD Tenerife, but that wasn’t enough to convince the new board and keep the job.
