Emre Çolak is the first signing during the winter window. It was confirmed by president Armenteros during the presentation of Fernando Vázquez.

The presentation of Fernando Vázquez left other news, it was the confirmation that Emre Çolak is returning to Deportivo. Current president Juan Antonio Armenteros advanced the news saying that it was expected that the Turkish playmaker was going to arrive to A Coruña on Monday, but a storm delayed his arrival.

He should land now on Tuesday and could be available for the visit to CD Numancia as long as the transfer window is open since Thursday. Armenteros didn’t inform about the details of the operation, but it’s the confirmation of the first winter singing at Deportivo.

This is the second stage of Çolak at Deportivo; his first arrival occurred in the summer of 2016, he had four coaches then (Garitano, Pepe Mel, Parralo and Seedorf) and he never managed to earn a spot as a starter. His qualities were evident, but at Deportivo it was never materialized into goals or assists. He only scored 4 goals in 59 Primera appearances; and in the season 2017/18 he only completed the full 90 minutes in two opportunities.

With the team relegated to Segunda, the Turkish playmaker was transferred to Al-Wahda FC in an operation valorized between €1 million and €1.5 million. He signed a three-year contract with the Saudi club and ended only making 15 appearances in the Saudi Professional League (1 goal scored in 987 minutes).
