Fernando Vázquez will have to move all his pieces again as the puzzle of his squad continues to move. Albacete arrive to the meeting in the middle of a crisis and with several moves in the market window.

Things are radically changing at Deportivo, from been the bottom club at the end of December, now some fans are even talking of the possibility of reaching the playoff positions. But coach Fernando Vázquez prefers to resume the situation in the number of victories needed to clinch the salvation. He still mentioning the number they need and skip to think of the current position at the standings.

With chances of promotion or not, the true is that Depor remain in relegation, but it could leave the drop zone in case of a fifth straight victory, this time visiting Albacete Balompié (Sunday, 16h00 CET). Once again Vazquez has had a lot of changes at the squad throughout the week.

The main concern for the game is how to cover the left side in defence. Salva Ruiz was replaced early in the game against Cádiz CF after suffering a hamstring injury (Semimembranosus muscle) on his left leg.  He will miss Sunday’s game. And his replacement, Luis Ruiz, didn’t train on Wednesday and Thursday, and on Friday he only completed part of the session. He will be assessed on Saturday and for the moment the coach has tested with Javi Montero for that position.

Another casualty for the game will be Peru Nolaskoain, the midfielder picked a fifth yellow card on the season and is suspended. David Simón already started to train with the group, but his long absence recovering from groin surgery will keep him at bay for some weeks.

Then the case of the three players that remain injured with minor problems, but that at the same time have the option to leave during the winter window: Saša Jovanović, Beto da Silva and Christian Santos.

In the meantime, Vázquez recovers Emre Çolak, who is returning from suspension, and there was more time to prepare the debut of Claudio Beauvue, the winger/striker wasn’t able to debut against Cádiz CF as the coach needed the third change in order to replace Peru Nolaskoain. Attacker Koné is also available, he skipped the game with Cádiz CF due to a virus and the Ivorian player joined the group on Friday.

Midfielder Uche Agbo also started to train with the team during this week, but in order to have him available for Sunday, first the club needs to unsubscribe a player, this since all the spots at the first team are covered.

At Albacete Balompié, the team is living the second worst streak in the league with seven games without victories. For this reason, Los Manchegos passed to be caressing the promotion places to lie only four points above Depor, meaning they are now in the fight for permanence.

Coach Luis Miguel Ramis is under pressure and there are comments that he could be fired in case of not adding the three points in this game. There’s a sense of emergency at the club, for that reason they have been pretty active in the market, but the true is that the sense is that they are losing potential instead of winning resources. They transferred this week Rey Manaj to Barcelona B, an attacker that was the best player on last season.

Meanwhile, the four reinforcements that have arrived are players that haven’t shined this season and that needed a change of environment: Playmaker Chema Núñez, ex-Depor left-back Diego Caballo, plus midfielder Jon Erice.

For the game at the Riazor, there’s an important casualty as Pedro Sánchez cannot face his former club due to a clause in his contract. The winger has been a regular started and scored a goal. Centre-back Nico Gorosito remains out after needing a toe surgery on last year.

At least midfielders Eddy Silvestre and Diego Hernández ‘Barri’ will return from suspension, while winger Karim Azamoum should be available after skipping the game with CD Lugo due to a knock.
