Fernando Vázquez recovers Peru Nolaskoain and Koné, while he keeps one eye in the last day of the transfer market.

The moment of Deportivo is starting to create an environment of euphoria among the fans, and the club wants to capitalize it with a series of promotions in order to have a great environment at the Riazor. And the game with UD Las Palmas (Saturday, 18h15 CET) will probably be a party. The latest from the club’s official is to give a shirt to each attendant with the phrase “podese” (it’s possible).

Coach Fernando Vázquez is finally getting more good news than bad news.  For the game he is recovering midfielder Peru Nolaskoain, who is returning from suspension, while striker Mamadou Koné is available after been out a couple of weeks due to illness.

Christian Santos has been trained apart, but his case is less serious and also seems motivated by the transfer window as he is one of the pointed men to leave the club. The only confirmed casualties for the game are left-back Salva Ruiz (hamstring) and right-back David Simón (groin), the latter is already working with the group during the training sessions.

Winger Hugo Vallejo is also available after completing his first full week with the team. The transfer window closes its doors at midnight and it’s expected that Depor will make one more move. Beto da Silva has left and up to four more operations could be made before the deadline.

At UD Las Palmas, the pressure is starting to raise as the team is passing through a series of bad results and the Canarians are now out of the promotion zone. Coach Pepe Mel has been struggling in 2020 as he always has important casualties for the games.

And the game at the Riazor won’t be the exception. There are four key casualties for the game against Depor, centre-back Martín Mantovani will miss back-to-back games due to a muscle problem, while midfielder Javi Castellano and winger Benito Ramírez are suspended.

But the biggest problem is playmaker Jonathan Viera. He arrived at the end of the summer in a weird deal with Chinese club Beijing Guoan, because he was loaned and should go back before the closure of the winter window.  The Canarian club was trying to extend his stage at the club, but the player already traveled to Korea for the pre-season. Viera is the top-scorer at the team with 10 goals scored in 13 league appearances.

And the situation can be worse, because Juan José Narváez is doubtful for Sunday. He is out since the first game in 2020 after suffering a nose fracture in the visit to CF Fuenlabrada. This week he started to wear a protective mask, but he was feeling dizzy and it isn’t clear when he was going to receive the medical okay to play. He has scored five goals this season, and all of them scored within his last seven appearances.

Then the long-term cases of striker Aridai Cabrera and right-back defender Álvaro Lemos, the latter is a sensitive case he is the only right-back at the squad. On Wednesday, the club also informed that centre-back Deivid Rodríguez will play loaned at Nea Salamina Famagusta FC from Cyprus.
