All appoints that right winger Christian Wilhelmsson will play with Deportivo during the rest of the present season, several papers in Spain and Sweden have been informing about the case. Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that River Plate has finally refused the offer for Colombian striker Falcao.

Christian Wilhelmsson (28) will probably become the first and last reinforcement of Deportivo during the winter window. Depor Sport informed during the past week that Lendoiro had the intention to sign Colombian striker Radamel Falcao (21) plus a right winger to be chosen from a four-name list. At the end, the selected choice was Wilhelmsson.

Deportivo was negotiating with Nantes and Bolton the details of the agreement, the Swedish international is playing on loan at Bolton Wanderers, but he has only fulfilled five games with the Premiership club since he arrived injured and later he didn't enter into the plans of the new manager, Gary Megson.

According to news agency EFE, Rafael Carpacho -Depor's spokesman- talked with the Swedish paper Aftonbladet, he said that Depor was near to fulfill the operation "We are near to sign him, it could be resolved today or tomorrow (Sunday or Monday). He will adapt perfectly to our squad, because we need to reinforce the right wing and he's fast, technical and with the needed experience."

And it seems that Wilhelmsson will be the only reinforcement during the winter window, that's because River Plate refused the  $12.4 million (€8.43 million) for Radamel Falcao. The president of the Argentinean club, Jos? Mar?a Aguilar, talked with sportpaper Deporte Campe??n and confirmed the situation "We have sent a fax to Deportivo with the communication, it was in a cordial way, we informed that their proposal was rejected."

Aguilar also explained the reasons for the decision "We had three central strikers and we sold Marco Rub?n, for that reason we are cripple in attack. River is an exporter of players, but we also have exigencies in the local tournament and in copa Libertadores. These days, Falcao is an irreplaceable choice at River. (Coach) Simeone counts with him and he's very demanding in his petitions, and I am a little worried to see the departure of Falcao at this moment."

Despite the scoring problems lived by Deportivo, it isn't expected that president Lendoiro will negotiate any other alternative, as he said after the match against Valladolid "We won't sign just for the fact of making a signing. We tried to bring a top scorer to the squad, but their clubs didn't allow it, because the market in near to close or because the leagues in South America are  near to start. About Wilhelmsson, we are negotiating with Bolton right now."
