The first team ended the first week of trainings with new routines and protocols. Bóveda is the only casualty of the return to work.

Deportivo completed the first week of trainings with a double shift on Saturday. The post COVID-19 reality brought a new reality materialized in new routines for the players. For now, the team is only completing physical exercises divided in two groups during two shifts.

The protocol of La Liga don’t allow to have all the players at the same time on the pitch, for this reason the coaching staff won’t be able to train tactics and lineups, but they have created routines to allow the players to have contact with the ball, like practicing shots on target without goalkeepers.

Coach Fernando Vázquez had 28 players available during the first week (23 from the first team and 5 academy players). These 28 players are divided in two groups of 14 and each one works at a different hour (9h00 CET and 11h00 CET). At the same time both groups are divided in two and work in separate fields, plus the keepers that train in a third pitch.

The first bad news in this return is the injury of Eneko Bóveda. The right-back defender suffered a muscle injury on his right leg, and it was informed that it was a relapse from a previous injury on this season. It isn’t clear when he will be back or even if he will be ready for the first game expected for June.
