La Liga is back for Deportivo, the Galicians must resume the competition and need results as soon as possible in order to leave the bottom places. Aketxe and Hugo Vallejo are out injured and Mollejo is suspended.

Deportivo are ready to return after the long break. On Sunday (17h00 CET), the Galicians resume the competition hosting Sporting Gijón in an empty Riazor and with the mission of earning points in order to leave the drop zone. Coach Fernando Vázquez has been working with 30 players, the 24 of the first team plus six academy players: Mujaid, Iago Gandoy, Valín, Brais Suárez, Alberto and Juan Rodríguez.

Now the highest number of players in a roster is 23, an increase that comes with the rule that five modifications are now allowed per game. Apart from the came of Michelle Somma, who remains recovering in Italy, there are other three cases of players that will miss the game due to injury cases: Ager Aketxe, Jorge Valín and Hugo Vallejo.

Aketxe is out since last week due to a muscle injury on the quadriceps of his right thigh, while Vallejo also has a muscle problem on his right thigh. Then Fabril’s right-back Jorge Valín is out with an adductor injury. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Aleksandar Jovanović (elbow) skipped the sessions on this week, but he isn’t ruled out yet.

Another problem is that Víctor Mollejo is suspended after picking a fifth yellow card in the game against UD Almería. In the end the coach will barely have enough men to build a roster with 23 players.

Sporting Gijón will arrive to the Riazor with the intention of keeping the good streak they had when the tournament was suspended, they are coming from three wins in their previous four games and want to enter into the fight for the promotion places.

Coach Miroslav Djukic could repeat the lineup that faced UD Las Palmas as he doesn’t have big injury problems. Right-back Bogdan Milovanov is the only player out due to a muscle problem suffered on last week, while winger Aitor García doubtful due to a thigh problem.
