Kick-off: 17h00 CET (Riazor)

UD Las Palmas lost in the previous matchday, so Deportivo is the only Segunda club that hasn’t lost since the lockdown, the Galicians have chained four draws and two victories in the period. SD Huesca was the team that defeated UD Las Palmas and only lost once in the same frame, they have chained four games without defeats, reason why they aspire to direct promotion.

Both clubs are doing a solid second round. Deportivo have added 30 points in the 16 games played in the final phase of la liga, it’s the second-best mark at Segunda only behind CD Tenerife (30). Meanwhile, SD Huesca is 4th in this list (26) behind Real Zaragoza (28).

SD Huesca have had mixed results in their away meetings, but they added 7 points within their last 3 visits. Meanwhile, the terrible first round is ruining the numbers of Deportivo, but the Galicians already chained 9 straight games without defeats at the Riazor. The last time Depor lost at home was in the meeting with Real Zaragoza (1-3, December 8).

Another stat to have in mind is that SD Huesca have dropped 9 points in 2020 after allowing goals within the final five minutes plus the added time. Meanwhile, Depor have rescued 6 points within its last 6 games after scoring goals in the same frame of the meetings.

The rotations worked for coach Fernando Vázquez in post-COVID era, the team not only clinched positive results, but also reached the midpoint of this final stage without suffering major casualties. But the situation changed this week. Mamadou Koné decided to leave the club as his contract was ending on June 30. Almost at the same time Uche Agbo suffered a sprain on his right knee that will keep him out for the remaining of the season.

Taking in mind that Michele Somma is also out for the final five games, it means that Vázquez only has 22 players at the first team. The coach will have to pick players from Fabril in order to fill the roster for the crucial phase of the campaign.

Team news: Keko Gontán is back from a hamstring injury and Javi Montero is back from suspension. Peru Nolaskoain didn’t recover in time and joins Uche Agbo and Michelle Somma at the injury room. Dani Giménez didn’t end Saturday’s session due to a muscle issue and coach picked Alberto as a precaution measure, reason why the roster is composed by 24 players. Iago Gandoy and Jorge Valín are the other Fabril’s players on the roster.

Man to watch: Playmaker Ager Aketxe. The Basque man is one of the best players at Deportivo since the lockdown, and it’s demonstrated by the numbers. He has been involved in four of the last five goals scored by the Galicians in the competition.

Picked players: (24) Dani Giménez, Aleksandar Jovanović, Alberto Sánchez (goalkeepers); Eneko Bóveda, David Simón, Mujaid Sadick, Abdoulaye Ba, Javi Montero, Luis Ruiz, Salva Ruiz, Jorge Valín (defenders); Álex Bergantiños, Vicente Gómez, Gaku Shibasaki, Ager Aketxe, Iago Gandoy, Víctor Mollejo, Keko Gontán, Emre Çolak, Hugo Vallejo (midfielders); Borja Valle, Christian Santos, Claudio Beauvue & Sabin Merino (attackers)

Predicted lineup: (5-3-2) Dani Giménez – Bóveda, Mujaid, Álex Bergantiños, Montero, Salva Ruiz – Borja Valle, Gaku, Aketxe– Mollejo, Sabin Merino.
SD Huesca arrive to the meeting living a good moment, but also in disadvantage. They closed matchday 36 on Monday, only one day later Depor were opening matchday 37; therefore, they will arrive to the Riazor tired after playing twice within the last five days and with two less days for the rest. For this reason, coach Michel decided to make rotations for the previous two matches.

Only four players repeated their presence in the starting lineup that defeated UD Las Palmas compared to the one that faced Cádiz CF. And there will be more changes against Deportivo, and is expected that three former members of the Galician club will start at the Riazor: left-back Luisinho, midfielder Pedro Mosquera and playmaker Juan Carlos. So, it will be a game with a lot of familiar faces on the pitch. And it could have been four, but centre-back Pablo Insua is out injured.

Team news: Midfielder Cheick Doukouré will miss the last five games after suffering an Achilles injury in the game against UD Las Palmas. Dani Raba and Pablo Insua are the other casualties for injury reasons.

Man to watch: Striker Shinji Okazaki. The Japanese attacker had a difficult start this season due to his problems at Málaga CF, but now he is living a sweet moment. He is the top-scorer at the team and 6 of his 10 goals came in his last 10 presentations with the team.

Picked players: (22) Álvaro Fernández, Rubén Yáñez (goalkeepers); Miguelón, Josué Sá, Javi Galán, Jorge Pulido, Toni Datković, Luisinho, Pedro López, Kike Hermoso (defenders); Pedro Mosquera, David Ferreiro, Eugeni Valderrama, Mikel Rico,Sergio Gómez, Juan Carlos Real, Kelechi Nwakali, Juan Peñazola (midfielders), Cristo González,Shinji Okazaki, Jordi Mboula & Rafa Mir (attackers).

Predicted lineup: (4-4-2) Álvaro Fernández – Pedro López, Pulido, Josue, Luisinho – Rafa Mir, Mikel Rico, Mosquera, Ferreiro – Juan Carlos, Okazaki.
