Deportivo are still healing from the wounds of the last defeat, and now need the three points facing a rival that has made a meritorious season. Peru Nolaskoain and Çolak are set to start.

Referee: Víctor Areces Franco
VAR Official: Isidro Díaz de Mera Escuderos
Kick-off: 21h00 CET (Anduva)

It has been a disastrous season for Deportivo, but the true is that 2020 has been a more than acceptable year. The Galicians are the second-best team in the year (33 points, 3 less than CD Tenerife)  and had only suffered two defeats until the visit to Málaga CF, the problem is that the team has suffered back-to-back defeats and the situation has delayed the confirmation of the permanence.

Meanwhile, CD Mirandés has completed a remarkable season. They lost the chance to reach the playoff after the last 1-0 loss at UD Las Palmas, but their 53 points represent their best mark in their 6 seasons at the second tier. Los Rojillos have a respectful mark at home with 32 points added at Anduva (9th best mark in the league), and only suffered two home defeats facing Cádiz CF (1-2) and SD Ponferradina (1-2).

Depor are playing their last away game, condition in which they have only added 19 points (5th worst mar in the league). The Galicians have only won one of their last six away meetings. This is only the third time that Deportivo play in Anduva for an official competition during this century, the previous visits were a 1-0 loss for the Segunda campaign 2013/14, and later a 1-1 draw for the Copa Del Rey 2014/15.

The bad season of Deportivo has had many lows, but what happened after the defeat with Extremadura UD exceeded all of them, not only for representing a huge blow in the race for the permanence, but for been a  direct hit into the pride of the club. Extremadura UD was already demoted and the fact of playing with a half squad been B team members just added a sense of embarrassment.

Coach Fernando Vázquez was not only criticized for the tactic, but also for his defeatist speech after the game, later Emre Çolak was so upset that he skipped a training session. The Turkish playmaker was forgiven after apologizing, but these situations just demonstrates the existence of a state of alarmism inside the team as Deportivo face the last two matchdays of the season.

Team news: Peru Nolaskoain and Salva Ruiz are back after surpassing their injuries (both hamstring). Luis Ruiz is out of the game after suffering a muscle injury before facing Extremadura UD, so the left-back defender joins Uche Agbo and Michelle Somma at the injury room.

Man to watch: Striker Christian Santos. The Venezuelan attacker has been in a second plane, but since the lockdown he has been important. He has scored 6 goals in the league campaign, and the half of those goals came after the return into competition.

Picked players: (23) Dani Giménez, Aleksandar Jovanović, Alberto (goalkeepers); Eneko Bóveda, David Simón, Mujaid Sadick, Abdoulaye Ba, Javi Montero, Juan Rodríguez, Salva Ruiz (defenders); Álex Bergantiños, Vicente Gómez, Gaku Shibasaki, Ager Aketxe, Peru Nolaskoain, Víctor Mollejo, Emre Çolak, Keko Gontán, Hugo Vallejo (midfielders); Borja Valle, Christian Santos, Claudio Beauvue & Sabin Merino (attackers)

Predicted lineup: (5-4-1) Dani Giménez – David Simón, Mujaid, Álex Bergantiños, Montero, Mollejo – Aketxe, Nolaskoain, Gaku, Çolak - Christian Santos.
It has been a solid season for CD Mirandés, first to all, Los Rojillos are living its sixth season at Segunda División and they already broke its record of points in the league. Later, it was also a historic campaign in which the team reached the semifinals in Copa Del Rey after eliminating Villarreal CF and Sevilla CF. The pity for them is that coach Andoni Iraola will probably leave for next season after been chased by other clubs like Sporting Gijón. There’s a sense of relaxation surrounding the club, but also of compromise as they want to end the league with a victory in the last home game.

Team news: Iraola is having big problems for the game due to the casualties, mainly in attack. Goalkeeper Jesús Reguillos ‘Limones’ was back in training after suffering a face fracture in the game with Real Oviedo, but he won’t play the game. Left-back Gorka Kijera plus attackers Mario Barco, Álvaro Rey and Matheus Aias are all out due to injury reasons.

Man to watch: Winger Martín Merquelanz. This product of Real Sociedad is living his first season at Segunda División, and the 23-year-old attacker is one of the surprises of the season as he is the top-scorer at the team with 14 goals in 35 presentations.

Picked players: (18) Raúl Lizoain, Alberto González (goalkeepers); Carlos Julio, Sergio González, Odei Onaindia, Modibo Sagnan, Alexander González, Enric Franquesa (defenders); Álvaro Peña, Lorenzo Crisetig, Joaquín Muñoz, Mickaël Malsa, Iñigo Vicente, Ernest Ohemeng, Antonio Sánchez, Jon Guridi (midfielders); Martin Merquelanz & Marcos André (attackers).

Predicted lineup: (4-2-3-1) Raul Lizoain – Carlos Julio, Sergio, Sagnan, Franquesa – Malsa, Antonio Sánchez – Merquelanz, Jon Guiridi, Iñigo Vicente – Marcos André.
