DEPOR LADIES: DETAILS FOR THE NEW SEASON

03 Sep 2020
Depor Ladies will face its seconds season at the elite. The number of participants has been increased to eighteen and the main goal will continue to be the permanence.

The Spanish Federation (RFEF) has finally released the details of the season 2020/21 for the female leagues. The cubs from Primera and Segunda begun their pre-season stages one month ago and there were several complaints for delaying the decisions.

Liga Iberdrola has increased the number of participants from 16 to 18, this since the demotions were frozen (RCD Espanyol and Valencia CF are staying at the elite) and as SD Eibar and Santa Teresa were promoted from Segunda (Reto Iberdrola). But the plan is to return to 16 participants for next season, and for this reason the number of demotions will be four.

The rivals of Depor Ladies will be: FC Barcelona, Real Madrid CF, Atlético de Madrid, Valencia CF, Levante UD, Sevilla FC, Real Betis Féminas, RCD Espanyol, SD Eibar, Sporting Club Huelva, Real Sociedad, Athletic Club, Madrid CFF, UD Granadilla Tenerife, Liberbank Santa Teresa Badajoz, Rayo Vallecano & EDF Logroño.

Depor Ladies had a remarkable performance on last season, the incredible comeback over CD Tacón (now Real Madrid), allowed to end fourth at the standings. But the goal will continue to be the permanence for the second season at the elite.

The first matchday has been scheduled for October 18, but the clubs will have a meeting at the middle of the month and the date for the comeback could be advanced to October 4, this since the team will already have two months of trainings and they already feel ready to start the competition.
