CARLOS ABAD SIGNS FOR DEPOR

04 Sep 2020
Carlos Abad is the second signing for the season 2020/21. The goalkeeper arrives transferred from CD Tenerife and pens a two-year deal.

Deportivo announced on Thursday that Carlos Abad-HernŠndez Trujillo is the second signing ahead of the season 2020/21. He is a 25-year-old goalkeeper that arrives transferred from CD Tenerife. Depor will pay a fee depending on objectives and the players signs a two-year contract with the Galicians.

Abad is a product of CD Tenerifeís academy, from there he jumped to Real Madrid Castilla, team in which he conquered the championship at Segunda B been the starting keeper after completing 36 appearances (2015/16). From there he retuned to CD Tenerife, but the Canarian keeper didnít have too many opportunities with the first team after only completing four Segunda appearances between 2017 and 2019.

For that reason, Abad was loaned to Racing Santander, and only to live a relegation to Segunda B after making 28 appearances during the campaign 2018/19. Last season he was loaned to Xanthi F.C. from the Super League Greece 2. Over there he had a solid performance making 28 appearances and clinching 8 clean sheets.

The new sporting director of Depor, Alfonso Serrano knows him pretty well after been the director of football at CD Tenerife, so this should be considered as his signing. This is the second reinforcement for the campaign 2020/21 after announcing defender Borja Granero a few hours before.
