Fernando Vázquez will keep the system and is expected to make changes. Coruxo FC has passed to be the surprise of last season to have problems in order to score goals.

Referee: Guillermo Cueto Amigo.
Kick-off: 12h00 CET (Riazor)

Only 11 of the 102 clubs at Segunda B haven’t scored a goal yet during the new season, but only 3 of these 11 teams already played three games: SD Compostela, Coruxo FC and Las Palmas Atlético. And the drought for Coruxo FC is extended in one more game considering that they ended scoreless in their last game from last campaign: 4-0 defeat at Real Madrid Castilla.

Coruxo FC is an old club that was founded in 1930 (later refunded in 1946), but this is their first official meeting against Deportivo. What happens is that they spent decades in lower leagues and it was until the year 2010 that they reached Segunda B, league in which they have been for the past ten seasons. Besides, they started to participate in Copa Del Rey since last season as the RFEF allowed the appearance of teams in lower leagues.

Fernando Vázquez is not giving too many clues during this season, he usually tests something in the previous training session to the games, and later present variations during the matches, but before the meeting with Coruxo FC he accepted that some of his attackers are out of shape, reason why he is using a 4-5-1 system.

Perhaps the coach will modify some of the names as he did before, but judging by his words, the 4-5-1 will stay. And that’s what he tested on Saturday: a 4-5-1 draw with the novelties of Miku and Uche Agbo taking the places of Miku and Álex Bergantiños. Borja Granero passed a late test on Saturday and should be playing alongside Mujaid at the centre of the defence

Team news: Both Miku and Borja Granero skipped Friday’s training, but joining the team on Saturday and it’s expected that they will start against Coruxo FC. The three players at the injury room are Eneko Bóveda, Derik Osede and Salva Ruiz. This time Vázquez picked two players from Fabril: Juan Rodríguez and Adri Castro

Man to watch: Striker Nicolás Ladislao Fedor ‘Miku’. The Venezuelan is one of the out-of-shape players that Fernando Vázquez was referring to during the press conference. The coach also pointed that he needs games in order to gain fitness and this should be his first appearance as a starter.

Picked players: (19) Carlos Abad, Lucho García (goalkeepers); Jorge Valín, Juan Rodríguez, Mujaid, Borja Granero, Héctor Hernández (defenders); Álex Bergantiños, Borges, Uche Agbo, Nacho González, Keko Gontán, Lara, Borja Galán, Gandoy (midfielders); Beauvue, Rui Costa, Adri Castro & Miku (attackers).

Predicted lineup: (4-5-1) Carlos Abad – Valín, Mujaid, Borja Granero, Héctor Hernández – Keko, Uche Agbo, Nacho González, Borges, Lara – Miku.
Coruxo FC is one of the clubs that dramatically changed their situation due to the pandemic. In the last game of the season 2019/20, they lost 4-0 at Real Madrid Castilla, a result that didn’t hide the great season they were making, because they were fifth at the standings only four points below the fourth place and were among the best scorers in the group.

And suddenly the RFEF suspended the season and only allowed the first four places to take place of the promotion playoff to Segunda. Then things drastically changed, coach Michel Alonso stayed, but he lost important players in attack like David Añon and Youssef Al Watani, who combined scored 12 of the 32 goals netted by the team. Now they are one of the eleven teams in the league that haven’t scored yet and their long permanence at the third tier is in danger with the new format planned by the RFEF.

Team news: Jacobo Trigo and Diego Silva are out injured, but coach Michel Alonso recovers attackers Álex Ares and Alejandro Valño. Still, both men are expected to start on the bench.

Man to watch: Striker Mateo Míguez. The ex-Celta man is completing his seventh season at the club, he was a starer in the previous three games and has the mission of breaking the drought of goals. He scored three goals in each one of his previous three seasons at Segunda B.

Picked players: (19) Alberto Domínguez, Alejandro Fernández (goalkeepers); Antón de Vicente, Alejandro Hernández ‘Andriu’, Pablo Crespo, Pablo Salgueiro, José Manuel Rodríguez, Jonathan Vila, Aitor Aspas, Carlos Torrado (defenders); Álvaro Martín ‘Chevi’, Martín Fuentes, Alejandro Ares, Borja Yebra, Jairo Cárcaba (midfielders); Mateo Míguez, Pedro Vázquez, Alejandro Valiño & José Rivera (strikers).

Predicted lineup: (4-2-3-1) Alberto – Antón, Pablo Crespo, Andriu, Manu - Yebra, Vila – Pedro Vázquez, Chevi, Jairo Cárcaba, - Mateo Míguez.
