Week without football at Segunda B, six of the seven defenders didn’t train as they are dealing with injuries. Diego Rolan is back and is available.

A rare brake in liga for Deportivo. The Spanish Federation planned this break in order to have time and recover postponed games, since there are no delayed matches in subgroup 1, then all the teams are resting and it coincided with the FIFA international break.

Deportivo reached the break surrounded by criticism due to the level of the game displayed, but also with a sense of relief, because the team has added 10 of the 12 points disputed so far, enough not only to be the leader of the subgroup 1, but also to be at the top of the group. From this point the team will dispute four more games in 2020 and later will reach a larger break, the Christmas break. The next game is the visit to CD Guijuelo (November 22, 17h00 CET).

Coach Fernando Vázquez is giving some rest to his squad during the break, the team completed four training sessions during the week, all of them physical sessions with some tactical exercises in which some of the players with more minutes were rested.

The injuries still attacking the defensive line, the defense is on the spotlight as six of the seven defenders at the first team didn’t train during the week. At the right side of the defence, Jorge Valín suffered an ankle sprain during Wednesday’s session. He should be off for ten days, which mean that the ex-Fabril would join the trainings on next Friday or Saturday, only one day before the visit to CD Guijuelo.

It means that Eneko Bóveda could end up as the starter for that game. The Basque defender is recovering from a groin injury sustained during the visit to UD Salamanca (October 18). This week he trained apart and should joined the group on next week.

It’s exactly the same case than Salva Ruiz, he also suffered a groin injury against Salamanca CF and will join the group on next week, the starter on that side of the pitch within the last two games has been Héctor Hernández, he is also dealing with muscle issues, reason why he lowered the pace and didn’t’ train with the team during this week.

The only defender that hasn’t been affected by the injuries is located at the central positions: Mujaid Sadick. The other two centre-backs at the first team are fighting with injuries. Derik Osede suffered an Achilles injury in the game with Unionistas (November 1) and will be available until December

Then Borja Granero didn’t start in the last two games due to muscle issues, he entered as a substitute and the coaching staff decided to give him some rest, reason why he has trained apart during the week. The “curse” has already reached the goal, this since Lucho García skipped the last three training sessions due to an elbow problem.

The attacking zone has also been in the spotlight during this week, this because Diego Rolan is finally available. The Uruguayan striker was in his country since the league tournament started in order to complete the paperwork for his work permission, he arrived to A Coruña on last week and joined the team on Wednesday after the respective COVID isolation.

Vázquez also used the week to add a new Fabril’s player into the list of lads that have trained with the first team during this season, and it was winger Diego Villares, the 12th Fabril’s member with participation in the sessions during this campaign. Pablo Brea, Alberto, Adri Castro and Juan Rodríguez were the other players from Fabril’s that trained with the team during this week.
