YO TE QUIERO (by La Mosca Ts?© Ts?©)
Lionel Scaloni modified a single line from the lyrics of this pop song by La Mosca (an Argentine band) to commemorate Depor's Liga victory. The original line has been crossed out and replaced by the (modified line)**
(Versi??n de Scaloni)
|
(Scaloni's Version)
Every day hacking around in this corner, using drugs to feel all right, the naughty bits that you had a day disappeared and nobody arouse you, Only her is rounding your head, she drops your beer and cures your heart, with this smoke, this damned smoke, converts your hope into desperation. That's why I want to give you, something from my heart, we will celebrate, (that Depor became champion)** Every night, nearly every night, you think tomorrow all will be better, but life treats you shockingly, you know there's no future, only time to loose, We'll have to join little pieces, assemble very slowly a dream to dream with, Springtime will be for everyone and nobody will steal our illusion from us. |

MANDA TRALLA (Oda a Arsenio) (by Os Diplom??ticos de Montealto)
This song was dedicated to former Depor player, coach and absolute legend Arsenio Iglesias, nicknamed both "The Fox from Arteixo" and "The Wizard". He is famous because he is the one who forged "SuperDepor"; that is to say, as a coach he completely transformed Depor from a mediocre local team into a small European giant. [Album: "Avante toda!" 1995]
(1) The "Marathon Tower" is the tall thin tower located at one of the ends of the Riazor stadium (the farthest from the beach).
"Manda tralla (Oda a Arsenio)"
Penouqueira de Arteixo
Nos terráns de Riazor
Manda tralla, lume dentro
"Holy cow! (Ode to Arsenio)"
Quarry from Arteixo
In the clods of Riazor
Holy cow! fire inside
Terra de moito croio
Onde lle aprendeu Arsenio
Os recortes ao raposo
Está a firma [sic] do destino
Non hai Depor sen Arsenio
E Arsenio sen Deportivo
Non che hai xenio coma Arsenio
Manda tralla en Riazor
At?© que tronce a Torre de Marathón.
Rocky land
Where Arsenio learnt
To dribble like a fox
It is the sign of destiny
There is no Depor without Arsenio
And no Arsenio without Deportivo
There's no genius like Arsenio
Holy cow in Riazor!
Until the Marathon tower(1) snaps.

LUME DE BIQUEIRA (by Os Diplom??ticos de Montealto)
This song first appeared in the "Selección, Xa!" album. This was a special album recorded to promote the creation of an official Galician national football team. A number of bands and footballers participated in that album, such as "Os Diplom??ticos". Namely, in the 2nd Version Depor's captain Fran and his brother José Ramón (former Depor player) sing in the choruses. The brothers sang the verses in the original version.
This same track was later remixed and included in the "Capetán" album. "Os Diplomáticos de Montealto" are from A Coruña (Montealto is one of the city's quarters), and have always expressed a special love for football in general and for Depor in particular. They are very popular in Galicia, as they play "bravo" style (brand name for Galician rock). [Album: "Capetán" 1999]
(1) In reference to Depor's captain Fran, born in the town of Ribeira.
(2) "Barra brava" ('wild bars') is the nickname given to Argentinean supporters.
"Lume de Biqueira" Alento, bandeiras, gorxas en guerra
Defensas e medios, ferro dianteiro
RETROUSO:
Fume de carozo, lume de biqueira
Hinchas, siareiros e unha barra brava
(REPETIR RETROUSO) Alento, bandeiras, gorxas en guerra
Defensas e medios, ferro dianteiro
(REPETIR RETROUSO) Paixán e avalancha, no ritmo da hinchada
Nosa victoria dende que pitan [sic] o saque
Lalalala, lalalala... |
"BOOT'S FIRE" Breath, flags, throats at war
Defenders and midfielders, iron striker
CHORUS:
Pips' smoke, boot's fire
Fans, supporters and a barra brava(2)
(REPEAT CHORUS) Breath, flags, throats at war
Defenders and midfielders, iron striker
(REPEAT CHORUS) Passion and avalanche, in the rhythm of the supporters
Ours is the victory since the whistle sounds
Lalalala, lalalala... |
