Same old errors of a Deportivo that didn’t inspire anything, but that had as an excuse the long list of casualties and the state of the pitch at El Helmántico.

- Same old song: Not a big change was noticed at Deportivo. The team tried to base the offense in the passing game and it looked fine for twenty minutes, but later the team returned to be clueless and the picture didn’t change even with the modifications of the second part. In favor of new coach Rubén De La Barrera, he only had three days with the team, there were a lot of casualties and the pitch was terrible.

- The two problems of Deportivo: The lack of an offensive reference to break the defensive lines when Diego Rolán is out is an old problem of this Deportivo. And in this game a second offensive problem was noticed: the absence of someone capable of drilling a pass. The trident at midfield simply had a terrible game (Álex, Gandoy and Borges). The three attackers had to constantly delay their position in order to find the ball and later were facing a two-on-one situations in which they never succeeded. The only play in which someone drilled a dangerous pass into the area was the assist of Lara that Salva Ruiz couldn’t finish (85’).

- The error in defence: The trident at midfield not only failed in offence, but also in defence. They never covered the field properly and it created cracks that gave a lot of problems to the side defenders. In the end Mujaid and Borja Granero, who was the centre-back playing in an advance position, were the ones that shone as they cancelled the arrivals from the local team. De La Barrera had to introduce Erik Osede and put him on the right side in order to correct problem.

- The pitch: El Helmántico presented one of the worst pitches in which Deportivo have played in recent years. The pitch was snowy all week long, and the snow was removed until Saturday. For this reason the pitch was dry and hard, something that caused several slips and the loss of pace at both teams. There was even an area that was frozen and that almost cost an injury in the local team.

- The youngest coach in 43 years: Rubén de La Barrera debuted with Depor at the age of 36 and became into the youngest coach in 43 years. The previous case was José López Rodríguez during the Segunda season 1976/77. He was the coach of Fabril and had to direct three games after José María Martín was sacked in the last stretch of the tournament. He lost the three games and was later replaced by Juan Arza.
