Victory in the last game of the season. An early goal was enough to screw the aspirations of a Rápido Bouzas that had enough chances of at least add a point.

End of the season for Fabril. The team was already relegated to the fifth tier, but Rápido de Bouzas were still having the chance to reach the playoffs. Coach Juan Carlos Valerón was having several casualties.
Adri Castro, Alberto, Iván Guerrero and Yeremay were all picked by the first team for the visit to CD Numancia. Keeper Pablo Brea was injured and the coach had to pick Juvenil B goalie Hugo Lemos in order to cover the spot on the bench.

The formation was a 4-3-3 draw. Brais Suárez covered the goal. Isra Pérez covered the right side in defence, the left flank was for Iñigo Reinoso, Juan Rodríguez and David Suárez played at the centre of the defence. Miguel Ángel Prendes, Álex Barba and Víctor Guedes composed the trio at midfield. Javi Sánchez attacked from the right wing, Raúl Pescador did it from the left, then Juan Cambón was the centre forward.

It can be said that it was an unfair result. Fabril played a decent game taking in mind it was already relegated, but Rápido Bouzas deserved at least a point, and only their nerves, tension and lack of aim prevented their defeat.

If Rápido Bouzas were under pressure to get the victory before the game, that pressure turned into desperation as Fabril were going to score after only 45 seconds in the game. The locals had the kick-off and lost the ball early in attack, and Juan Cambón was going to drill a pass between two defenders and into the path of Víctor Guedes, who ran towards the goal to end crossing local goalie Álex Vila

The goal was a hard hit for the locals, they didn’t have the ball and Fabril was the side insisting in attack. The lads were having longer ball possessions, and their next chance was a long ball from Reinoso that Javi Sánchez couldn’t control at the left side of the area (10’).

Starting by minute 20, Rápido Bouzas begun to gain control of the ball, but they weren’t creating scoring opportunities and Fabril were still feeling comfortable on the pitch. The locals were already desperate and that feeling pushed them to commit fouls at midfield that only delayed the game.

Rápido Bouzas started to find some cracks at Fabril’s defence during the la stretch of the first half, and it was then that they had two clear opportunities. The first was a header of Álex Rey brilliantly saved by Brais (36’). Then a counterattack in which Canhoto hit the crossbar when the keeper was already defeated (40’). At this point CD Choco were defeating SD Silva with a big score (3-0 at half-time), so the locals knew that they playoff aspirations were minimal.

The fact that Rápido Bouzas knew that they didn’t have a chance to get into the playoffs due to other results didn’t affect the pace in the second half, because the locals were deserving the equalizer as they constantly pushed in attack. Fabril spent the full second half defending, though they never seemed overwhelmed.

Valerón made changes, but it didn’t improve things in attack. The first substitution was the entry of Álex Pérez for Pescador. Viti had a good change to score at minute 66, but he was unable to connect a low cross from the left.

Then Valerón made a triple change with Sarmiento, Boedo and Kanouté replacing Guedes, Barba and Cambón. There was a big pressure by Rápido Bouzas in the final stretch, but the true is that their only shot on target in the second half came at minute 77, it was an attempt of substitute Rubén Martínez that was repealed by Brais.
