Deportivo achieved a convincing win over Espanyol, but this result wasn't helpful in order to leave the relegation zone. The Galicians still facing a compromised situation in the table. However, the possibilities are bigger for Depor since there's a list of six teams that are near to Lotina's squad. A win over Sevilla could even put the team in the 13th spot.

It was a good weekend for the teams occupying a place in the second part of the table in Primera Divisi??n. Among the teams in the drop zone, only Zaragoza, Murcia and Levante lost their matches, while Getafe, Valladolid and Osasuna made a huge step with their respective victories. Getafe is without doubt the big winner, first because it keeps the distance with the relegation, and secondly because it achieved a moral victory at the Bernabe??.

The big loser of the matchday was Real Murcia. Lucas Alcaraz's squad lost at home against a direct rival -Valladolid- and now the safety is six points away from them. Besides, Murcia is the worst team in Primera Divisi??n within the last five games since it has only clinched one of the last fifteen points in dispute. It has been rumoured that Alcaraz might by sacked during the week due to this reasons and that his replacement could be Javier Clemente.

If Murcia maintains the same rhythm and with Levante already condemned, the only thing left to know is who will be the third club relegated to Segunda Divisi??n. So far Deportivo is the one occupying the 18th place in the table, but there are seven clubs in a range of three points (between the 12th and 18th position), meaning the table could be up inside down after matchday 26.

As the table shows up, Mallorca, Osasuna, Athletic Bilbao, Zaragoza, Betis and Recreativo are saved by now, but a defeat in the next match could put them in the middle of the flames. Besides, it should be noticed that within the last five liga games, Deportivo is the best squad on this part of the table, that's because it has clinched ten of the last fifteen points in dispute, however the recent good results of the other teams are keeping Depor in relegation.

Together with Murcia, the other two teams living a poor moment are Real Valladolid and Zaragoza, they have only added four points in the last five liga matches. Zaragoza even arrives to matchday 26 after a humiliating 0-5 defeat against Sevilla, precisely the next rival of Deportivo. Matchday 26 promises to be exciting:

In Murcia, Lucas Alcaraz will have his last chance -if he isn't sacked before the weekend- during a new confrontation against a direct rival, Real Betis. A new defeat will almost confirm their presence in Segunda for the next season. There are other two confrontations between direct rivals: Getafe against Mallorca and Levante against Zaragoza.

Meanwhile, the other teams compromised in the table are having tough confrontations. Depor receives the visit of the 'high-flyer' Sevilla, while Valladolid does the same with Racing Santander, the surprise of the season. At the same time, Osasuna pays a visit to UEFA Champions League contender Villarreal and Recreativo plays at home against the leader Real Madrid. This means that anything can happen during the weekend and that the table could see huge changes in just seven day.
