DEPORTIVO REACHED AN AGREEMENT FOR ARIZMENDI

15 Dec 2005
The transfer of the Madrilian striker Angel Arizmendi to Deportivo has been confirmed by the club. The deal with Atl?©tico Madrid hasn't been signed yet but the club hopes that it will be soon; meanwhile, newspaper La Opini??n wrote an article about the meeting that Coloccini's agent had with Lendoiro during this week.

Canaldeportivo.com announced that Angel Javier Arizmendi is now a player of Deportivo, according to the sportpaper Marca the Galician club will pay €2 million for his transfer and the Madrilian player will sign a contract for four years. The 21-year old striker was appointed as a target of Depor since some weeks ago, but Atl?©tico Madrid didn't want to sell him; apparently, they only wanted to send the striker in a loan spell for the rest of the season.

Getafe showed their interest in the player too, but Deportivo continued to chase him. Marca also wrote that the solution that Lendoiro suggested was a special clause in which Atl?©tico has an option in order to buy the player after two years at the price of €4 million. The deal was confirmed last night by the club's officials and apparently the only thing left to do is to close some details of the contract and the signing of the player; however, Arizmendi passed the physical tests yesterday.

According to sportpaper AS the Madrilian striker will be presented on next Monday as Depor's player. Arizmendi and his agent, Manuel Garc?a Quil??n were negotiating with Lendoiro during  last night and apparently all the parties are satisfied with the agreement.

The arrival of Arizmendi is opening a problem in squad since the 25 spots for la liga are covered at this point. In this sense Lendoiro will have to move quickly in order to find a destination for C?©sar, H?©ctor, Pablo Amo or Momo. The winter window will be open in January and one of the priorities in the club will be the exit of some of the players that don't count for Caparr??s. If the arrival of Arizmendi is finally confirmed he will join the club in the first days of 2006 and could be ready to debut in the copa's confrontation against Osasuna.

COLOCCINI'S SITUATION
Last week Fabricio Coloccini's agent, Marcelo Lombilla spoke with the media saying that the Argentinean defender wanted to leave the club, but in a new interview made by newspaper La Opini??n Lombilla said that he had a meeting with Lendoiro in which he refused the rumours appeared in the recent days: "Firstly, I wanted to leave the clear idea that the player doesn't want to leave the club as some papers wrote."

However, Lombilla affirms that the main objective of his meeting with Lendoiro was to know the current situation of Coloccini in the squad: "With the renovation of the coach we want to know if Coloccini's absence from the lineups will continue to happen, because if this situation persists it's clear that we will try to find an exit." The agent also explained the point of view of the player: "He isn't happy with the situation that he's living, he left Milan in order to abandon the bench and he doesn't want to pass through the same experience again. That's why we want to know what the plans are that the club has for the player."
