OMAR BRAVO SIGNS FOR DEPORTIVO

The news were announced by <i>Depor Sport</i> on Thursday's issue and later it was confirmed by Depor's spokesman, Rafael Carpacho. Mexican striker Omar Bravo will sign a three-year contract with Deportivo and will join Lotina's side in a zero-cost transfer from Chivas de Guadalajara. The attacker had a meeting with Chivas's officials last night and his arrival is expected for the weekend.

After all the rumours and contradictions, it was confirmed that striker Omar Bravo will sign for Deportivo. Depor Sport published on Thursday's issue the confirmation of the deal. The front cover was showing a picture of the striker and the sentence "Yes, I want" in reference to his approval for Depor's proposition. According to the source, the Mexican international called the club on Wednesday's night and communicated that he was accepting Deportivo's offer after having a meeting with Chivas's officials. Later the spokesman of the club, Rafael Carpacho, confirmed the deal to reporters.

The operation is a zero-cost transfer since the player was ending contract with Chivas de Guadalajara, however it has been speculated the player might be receiving €1.5 million for the move. It was also speculated by the Mexican media that Bravo will earn $3 million (€ 1.9 million) per season. None of this amounts were confirmed by Depor Sport, just that the striker will sign a three-year contract with Depor.

It was also informed that Bravo will arrive to La Coru?a during the weekend in order to sign the contract. Coach Lotina already gave his approval to his incorporation although the media in La Coru?a speculates the club still searching for another striker in the market.

Omar Bravo is the second historic goal scorer in the history of Chivas de Guadalajara. The Sinaloa-born attacker has scored 101 goals in 258 matches in Mexico plus 9 in 24 games with the national team. According to the Mexican media, other European clubs like Blackburn Rovers and Racing Santander were interested in the Marksman, but that he chose Depor for the presence of his compatriot and friend Andr?s Guardado.
