The club announced through the contract with right winger Momo has been cancelled. The Canarian will now go to Xerez in order to sign a new deal. Momo was signed in the year 2004 coming from Las Palmas and he never found a place in the squads of Irureta, Caparr??s or Lotina.

The contract with right winger Geronimo Figueroa Cabrera Momo’ was cancelled on Friday’s night. The deal with the Canarian player was ending in June of the next year, but both sides decided to end the relationship since some weeks ago. They were just discussing the terms and the final agreement was signed on Friday.

Momo arrived to Deportivo on June 10th 2004, the Galician club reached and agreement with UD Las Palmas in order to cancel the debt for the transfer of Gabriel Schurrer and as a result of this negotiation, both Momo and Rub?©n Castro were transferred to Depor. The deal was valued in €3,6 million.

But Momo never found a place in the squad, he was first loaned to Albacete by Javier Irureta and later the Canarian winger was unable to satisfy the demands of Joaqu?n Caparr??s. He just played five liga matches with Depor’s shirt, all of these games on the season 2005/2006. For the following season he was loaned to Racing de Santander, but his luck didn’t change there as he barely played.

The arrival of Miguel Angel Lotina didn’t meant any improvement for Momo as he was discarded during the pre-season 2007/2008, then he was loaned for the third time and his new destiny was Xerez CD, club in which he made a decent season playing 32 matches in Segunda Divisi??n. He left a positive impression at Xerez, that’s why it’s now expected that Momo will sign a new contract with them during the next week.
