Now it seems that Diego Colotto is the main candidate to replace Fabricio Coloccini at Deportivo’s squad. Although the Galician squad is keeping an eye on Botinelli. It seems the final decision will be taken by Lotina and Lendoiro during a meeting on the next week (Monday). Meanwhile Maritimo Funchal is thinking of Taborda, while the deal with Malaga for Adri??n could end in nothing.

Now that Fabricio Coloccini’s exit has been finally confirmed, Deportivo already started the quest for his successor. Two Argentineans were appointed as the main candidates and one of them, Diego Colotto (27), is now taking the lead in the race. On Wednesday it was informed by sportpaper Deporte Campe??n (DxT) that Depor was keen to pay the €4 million of his buyout clause.

And on Thursday it was newspaper La Opini??n A Coru?±a who reported that Colotto was Lotina’s main candidate. Apparently Depor already agreed the terms with the defender and his agent - Pascual Lezcano- and now the next step is to convince Atlas de Guadalajara. For this, La Opini??n reports that Depor is preparing a €2.5 or €3 million offer.

But this offer won’t be presented before the weekend, because first Lotina and Lendoiro will have a crucial meeting on Monday in order to define once and for all the final squad that will face the season 2008/2009. It has been reported that Lotina will put the name of Colocini’s successor over the desk during this meeting. The reunion will also be used to define the future of other players, like the case of Pablo Amo. Meanwhile, the name of Jonathan Pablo Bottinelli (23) still linked with Depor. The same paper La Opini??n A Coru?±a wrote the Argentinean defender is the second choice in case the transfer of Colotto fails. For this reason his father and agent has been already contacted.

In other transfer news, Maritimo Funchal is really interested in the loan of Sebasti??n Taborda. The president of the Portuguese side, Carlos Pereira, revealed to reporters the state of the negotiations We are interested in a loan with a buyout option. I saw him willing to accept (Lendoiro), but he told to us that he will analyse the case with his technical department, I mean with his coach. We also talked with his agent, one of the problems are his wages, something unaffordable for Portugal. One part would be paid by us and the other by Depor. The main choice searched by Maritimo in order to reinforce its striking zone was Makukula, but he was already discarded.

Finally, the deal with Malaga for the loan of the striker Adrian L??pez is near to collapse. The main problems are the clauses that Lendoiro wants to include in the contract with the Andalucian club. According to sportpaper AS, Lendoiro wants to see M??laga paying the 100% of Adri??n’s salary, plus to include penalizations in case the Asturian striker doesn’t play a certain number of games and even a compensation if Malaga achieve the permanence. It seems all this clauses will cost €1 million to Malaga. AS also speculates that if the deal doesn’t take place, Adri??n will probably stay at Depor since the Galician squad doesn’t want to negotiate a loan with a Segunda club. The case of Adri??n could be also decided during Monday’s meeting between Lendoiro and Lotina.
