Youngster Joshua from Deportivo Juvenil A is on the verge of becoming into the next top-scorer at Deportivo. Currently he’s the ?Pichichi’ at Depor’s youth squads as he has scored twelve goals in ten matches. If he continues with the same pace, he could break the records of Hugo Garc?a and Aridane.

Deportivo and Deportivo B are used to suffer a lack of goals during recent seasons, but the strikers of Deportivo Juvenil A have been shining in recent campaigns at Divisi??n de Honor. First it was Aridane Santana two seasons ago, and on the past year it was Hugo Garc?a after the ex-Real Madrid scored 22 times on the season.

Now it’s the turn of Joshua Corrales Regueiro, the most in-form scorer at Deportivo’s youth squads. The Ponferrada-born youngster has scored twelve goals after ten matches with Juvenil A, including one in the recent victory over Real Oviedo Juvenil (3-2). He arrived on the past season coming from Villarreal and after been rejected there due to an injury case. He has been described as a powerful player in the aerial game, an attacker that shines for his opportunism and for his hard work up front.

And his arrival proved to be a solid bet of Deportivo, because Joshua scored 21 goals with Juvenil B at Liga Nacional during the past season. Now that he has been promoted to Juvenil A, his average of 1.2 goals per match is menacing to break all the records at the club.

In a recent interview with Depor Sport, the youngster appointed that he isn’t obsessed about been breaking any mark at Deportivo ?This is coming by streaks, but I am convinced that if you are fine, the things work out at the end. At the moment in which I could start to face problems, I will work harder. I don’t have a fixed objective of goals. I don’t think about that. The most important thing for me is that my goals would help us to reduce the distance with Celta, which is the current leader in Divisi??n de Honor.?

Asked about a comparison with Fabril’s Hugo Garc?a, Joshua just wants to appoint he’s a different type of striker ?A lot of people have commented to me that I have the same pace than Hugo. But sincerely, we are different strikers. Each one possesses their own qualities, though I haven’t seen him in too many games. In any case, I just take advantage of the offensive plays made by the team. Without my team mates, it would be hard to score the goals.? Finally, the youngster confessed that his dream is to play with Fabril ?I will give everything for the squad, I’m sure I wouldn’t disappoint anybody.?
