CONFIRMATION IN THE DEAL FOR BRAVO

02 Mar 2009
The club confirmed on Monday the loan deal with Tigres Monterrey for Omar Bravo. The Mexican striker will join the Mexican club until June 30, while the team of Jos?© Pekerman is keeping a buyout option that could be fulfilled at the end of the period.

After all kind of speculations, Omar Bravo finally signed his loan contract with Tigres de Monterrey during Monday’s morning. Deportivo and Tigres reached an agreement on the past week, but it was until yesterday’s morning that the deal turned into an official issue since the player was still negotiating some aspects of the contract.

As it was informed before, Depor is receiving $500,000 (€424,000) for the loan lasting until June 30, while the Mexican club is keeping a $4.3 million (€3.5 million) buyout option that could be fulfilled at the end of the period. Besides, Tigres has now the obligation to play one Teresa Herrera tournament in La Coru?±a.

The player travels this day to Mexico and will find a squad that’s currently fighting in order to avoid the relegation. After eight matchdays in Torneo Clausura 2009, Tigres has only added six points. Jos?© Pekerman was hired as the new coach during the past week, but in his debut, the squad from Monterrey suffered a new defeat (0-1 at UNAM).

Besides, Tigres is the third worst offensive line in the tournament with only eight goals scored so far. That’s the reason why they were searching for reinforcements in the striking zone. Bravo, who already scored more than 100 goals with Chivas in Mexico, was the first choice of Tigres.
