OMAR BRAVO: I WILL RETURN

03 Mar 2009
The Mexican already traveled to Mexico in order to join Tigres de Monterrey, but before leaving, the ex-Chivas marksman promised that he will return in order to succeed at Depor. He also denied that he didn’t want to travel with the squad for the trip to Aalborg.

After almost three weeks of speculations and rumours, striker Omar Bravo finally accepted his loan exit to Tigres de Monterrey in Mexico. Operation that for the moment is leaving $500,000 at the club and that could also report $4.3 million in case that Tigres decides to fulfill the buyout option over the player.

The journalists in la Coru?±a are a little upset with him, because the player told them that that he was leaving at nine in the morning, instead he took a place two hours before, meaning that nobody from the media was able to talk wit him at the airport. However, one day before, Bravo attended to the TV show La Pr??rroga and talked about his exit from Depor.

It’s a loan for three months and later I hope to return stronger. To go back depends on me and I am not giving up, I still fighting. I will return in order to demonstrate that I can play at Depor. I am not going back disappointed, also I don’t have words to thank the support gave to me by the fans. Those were his words about his exit just nine month after his initial arrival.

One of the most interesting issues was his opinion about the first-leg in UEFA against Aalborg, on the previous week coach Miguel Angel Lotina assured the Mexican player was forced to travel to Denmark, but Omar denied this, I never refused to travel and I nether demanded anything. I just told the coach that Tigres was making an approach and that it should be considered. The normal thing would be to stay home in case an agreement was reached.

However, Bravo accepted the criticism of Lotina related to his mental state, I accept the criticism. Personally I don’t doubt of my own capacity, but I respect their opinions. I told the coach I was sad, I told him I was losing my confidence and pace. The Mexican said.

Now Omar returns to Mexico after just playing 21 official matches at Depor, he only made six appearances as starter and scored three goals, poor numbers that for him aren’t a reflection of the reality, I am calmed for the work that has been done, but the numbers are cold and you always need to give more. Until the last game, my head was always at Depor.
