Lopo is doubtful for the game due to bronchitis and his place could be taken by Ze Castro, meanwhile Sporting will play at the Riazor with the same squad that drew with Real Madrid on the past matchday.

On Friday, Deportivo started to prepare the clash against Sporting Gijón (Sunday, 21h00 CET), it was the first session ahead of the match as the team rested on Thursday after the Copa win over Real Murcia (1-0). The novelty was that Albert Lopo skipped the session because he was having fever due to bronchitis.

The Catalan defender was sent back to his home and a new valuation will be made during today’s training, which is the last session before the liga encounter. If he is not ready to play, then Ze Castro will enter to the formation. The Portuguese defender played for the last time in matchday 03 (2-3 Vs Espanyol), firstly for technical reasons and later due to a thigh injury, but he is not ready to return.

But more changes could be made after the 0-4 blow against Real Valladolid. Lotina has used a 4-3-3 scheme in the last two liga matches (Sevilla and Valladolid) and could be tempted to return to the “usual” 4-2-3-1, which could mean the entries of Pablo Alvarez for Adrian and Lassad or even Valerón for Antonio Tomás. The final decision will be taken today at Abegondo.

At Sporting, coach Manolo Preciado has no injury worries ahead of the game, that’s why he already told ro reporters that his plans are to use the same lineup that drew with Real Madrid on the past matchday (0-0). The Asturians are arriving to the Riazor in the middle of a positive streak, with seven points added within the last three matchdays in liga.
