The plague of injuries continues to strike Deportivo, on Wednesday Lopo and Ze Castro skipped the training session, while Sergio, Bodipo, Juca, Riki and Lassad are doubtful. Meanwhile, the board of directors at Zaragoza has resigned.

More names were added to list of physical problems at Deportivo; on Wednesday central defenders Albert Lopo (tonsillitis) and Zé Castro (sinusitis) missed the training sessions due to illness, while midfielder Sergio (flu) and striker Rodolfo Bodipo (knee) trained separately at the gym. Besides, strikers Riki, Lassad (both stress fracture) and midfielder Juca (ankle) are still battling to be fit for Sunday’s game.

Also, striker Mista (pubalgy) and left-back Brayan Angulo (knee ligaments) are already discarded for the encounter. This means that Lotina hasn’t been able to test any lineup as he has two confirmed casualties plus seven players in doubt. The Basque coach will have to wait until Friday in order to know what men will be available and therefore what are the choices for Sunday’s match at La Romareda.

About the case of Mista, doctor Carlos Lariño warned that it could be a long-term casualty, "Mista has been training at the top for eight months, we must remember that he began to work by his own in May and did more work in the summer when the rest of the team was on vacations, and we knew that at some point he would have to rest. His pubis problems may re-emerge with just jogging or hitting the ball. "

Something later confirmed by physical therapist Eduardo Domínguez, “Often these types of episodes of groin injuries (pubalgy) may occur due to the continuity in the trainings. To avoid further problems we decided to stop, but not completely. Now Mista have to do preventive work, reinforcement, this in order to ensure he can finish the season. He could continue working with the group, but not at one hundred percent, and is preferable to isolate him for a few weeks doing a specific work.”

At Real Zaragoza, all eyes were upon the things occurring outside the pitch, and it’s that the major shareholder of the club, Agapito Iglesias, decided to fire president Eduardo Bandrés, but before that happened, Bandrés himself and the rest of the board of directors resigned during a press conference. Now Agapito Iglesias is assuming the role of chairman of the club.

To add more drama to their situation, Brazilian defender Diogo Rincón was kidnapped together with his brother when both were spending the holidays in Brazil; he was already released, but had to give his car, money and some jewelry.  At least the news are better inside the pitch, because there are no injury worries ahead of the clash against Deportivo, the exception is Serbian Ivan Obradovic, who has a long-term knee problem.
