Depor’s president is aware that several of the best players at Lotina’s squad are ending contract within the next two years, that’s why he already started to negotiate their renewals, starting with Aranzubia and Albert Lopo.

“It looks like 2011 is far and away, but it isn’t like that.” That was one of the phrases pronounced by president Augusto César Lendoiro after Saturday’s clash against Xérez CD. A few weeks ago presented an article in which it was reported that nineteen players are ending contract within the next two years.

Five of those men are ending contract in 2010: Valerón, Sergio, Adrián López ‘Piscu’, Jairo and Angulo (loan). And the other fourteen in June of 2011: Aranzubia, Manu, Lopo, Manuel Pablo, Colotto, Antonio Tomas, Juan Rodríguez, Juca, Mista, Riki, Bodipo, Adrián and Rubén Castro.

On Monday Sportpaper AS presented a report signed by journalist Luis De La Cruz in which it was affirmed that Lendoiro already started to make his moves. And the first two targets are Albert Lopo and Daniel Aranzubia, precisely the only two Depor’s players that have disputed all the possible minutes in liga after 23 matchdays.

According to De La Cruz. Depor’s president already contacted the agent of Aranzubia, Jesús Medina, through the phone, while on the past weeks he had a personal conversation at Plaza de Pontevedra with Iñaki Ibáñez (Lopo’s agent), this since Ibáñez is the same agent of coach Miguel Angel Lotina, with whom he is also negotiating an extension of contract. According to AS, Lendoiro is offering a two-year renewal to the Catalan defender. The idea of the president in to sign an extension with these two players before the end of the season.

AS also predicts that the next two men on the list are Juan Rodriguez and Riki, duo that will be approached in the coming weeks. The Madrilenian paper also believes that Lendoiro will try to renew Adrián, Antonio Tomás, Juca and Manuel Pablo, though these four cases aren’t considered as a “priority”.
