Not a brilliant game, but enough effective to see Fabril claiming back the three points. The goals came in weird plays, first with a long kick from the keeper and the other in an unusual penalty. Now Depor thinks of the final against Cerceda.

Confrontation between the only two B squads at the Galician group of Tercera División; coach Tito Ramallo was missing central defender David Rochela for injury reasons, while Diego Vela returned to Juvenil A and the duo Juan Dominguez-Seoane was with the first squad. At least the coach recovered central defender Karl Kaimba, while Ricardo Fernández Pérez ‘Richi’ was picked from Juvenil A in order to perform at the left wing.

The 4-2-3-1 scheme had Marcos Valín at the goal, Diego Vieytes performed at the right-back position and Raúl was at the left side. The central defenders were Karl and Castillo. Dani and Héctor were the two pivotes, 19-year-old Richi was at the left wing (his first appearance as starter with Fabril) and Luis Angel at the right. David Añon was the playmaker and Joshua Corrales the central attacker.

Deportivo B finally achieved a victory after four straight matches missing to add the three points, but the truth is that Ramallo’s team did it without showing too much in a game that was decided in two curious actions. Actually, there were only ten scoring opportunities in the game, five for each team, and it was Fabril the side that knew how to take advantage of the chances to claim the victory.

Maybe the best virtue of the team was its defence, because Depor B gave the ball possession to the rival and spent the time speculating with counterattacks. In the previous four matches the defensive sector had allowed seven goals, and in this occasion it clinched a clean sheet, the first in a matter of a month and the ninth in the whole season.

Nothing special occurred until the first goal, which came at minute 36, keeper Valín released a long throw and the ball reached the edge of the opposite area, Joshua jumped with a rival for the ball, and the striker was able to slightly touch it with the head, enough to reach Luis Angel at the far post, who later beat Sergio Ríos with an effort from close range. It is the ninth goal in liga for the Canarian player.

Pontevedra B had its first chance until the stoppage time of the first part; it was a drilling shot of Curri that missed the target. After the break Ramallo tried to put more velocity to the game as he allowed the entry of Chirri for Añon, change that moved Luis Angel to the playmaking function.

But the second goal came in a weird penalty instead of a counterattack, it was throw-in of Valencia in which the ball was sent to the area, Richi was following the ball and fell down as a rival slipped first, the referee whistled the penalty and Dani scored his ninth goal on the season from the penalty spot.

The game became a little more opened after the second goal, because Ramallo put Juan Carlos and Cristian Valle on the pitch, this last change moved Chirri to his natural position, the right wing, and the Merida-born player had the chance to score a third goal, but his shot from outside the area missed the target.

First victory for Depor B within the last month and now the squad still on track in the battle for the first place; it wasn’t a convincing presentation, but at least effective enough to claim the three points. The negative issue is that Raúl saw his fifth yellow card of the season and with Seoane appointed to be a starter on Saturday with the first team, then Ramallo only has Cristian Valle for the left-back position for Thursday’s ‘final’ against Cerceda (Abegondo, 19h00 CET). The winner of that encounter will have a big chance to secure the first place at the end of the season.

Comments of Tito Ramallo:, “The team ended the bad streak and added three points that bring us some tranquility. We played in a practical way, taking advantage of the occasions we had and playing through counterattacks, because we were aware of the difficulties in order to make a combinative game on here. Besides, we were strong in defence, something we were missing and I think we deserved to take the game.”
