Juvenil A players Vela and Juan Carlos led the 8th straight victory of Depor B at Tercera División, and now Ramallo’s team looks stronger than ever before ahead of the playoffs to Segunda B

Coach Tito Ramallo was having the casualties of defenders Rochela and Raúl, both traveling with the first squad for the game against Valencia, while José Manuel from Juvenil A, Marcos Valín, Diego Vieytes and Momar were out for injury reasons, finally the Pichichi of the team, Luis Angel, was suspended. But since Depor was already qualified to the playoffs as the first place of the group, the coach even rested some men, that’s the case of captain Dani and winger David Añon.

In the end Ramallo switched back to the 4-2-3-1 system; the main fact was to witness the debut of Eduardo Sousa Pérez ‘Edu’ at the goal, Diego Seoane wasn’t picked by Lotina and now was the right-back defender of Depor B, Cristian Valle was on the left, while French Karl was performing alongside Castillo at the centre. Hector and Richi were the pivotes, Diego Vela played on the right wing, Chirri on the left, Juan Carlos was the playmaker and Hugo García the central attacker.

Fabril was playing without its Pichichi, but it was the same for Vigo-based club Coruxo FC, because Ricardo González ‘Richi’ was out injured, the striker had scored fourteen goals on the season; midfielders David Perez and French Ibrahim Baptiste were also out injured, but coach Josiño Abalde was recovering other two midfielders: Marco Antonio Rodríguez ‘Marquitos’ and Jonathan Antúnez, plus defender Manuel Avendaño.

Four players from Juvenil A were starters in the game, besides Ramallo was missing Luis Angel and resting Añon, but the truth is that the dynamic of recent games didn’t change as Fabril continued to be the team that dominates its rival. Therefore the locals were having the ball possession, while the visitors were locked at the back zone and waiting to release a counterattack.

Within the first 35 minutes Depor B had difficulties to create scoring opportunities, neither Chirri nor Vela were finding the spaces at the wings and the game by the centre was stuck. Then Juan Carlos started to appear and lighted the way to the opposite goal, first with a long and perfect pass that left Hugo Garcia alone against visiting keeper Jorge Perez, but the striker didn’t capitalize the chance as the effort was deflected by the goalie (37’).

And three minutes later Juan Carlos appeared again to score the first goal, the action started at midfield as Hector headed a divided ball, then Juan Carlos controlled it to release a beautiful volley from 30 meters that surprised keeper Jorge Perez.

Then Fabril created more chances within the final 5 minutes than in the previous 40, starting with Chirri facing Jorge Perez one-on-one, but the effort was deflected and then Vela missed the rebound as his shot was stopped by the keeper. And just when the 1-0 seemed to be the score at halftime the same Diego Vela appeared to score the second. This time the assistor was Richi with a perfect drilling pass that left the winger alone inside the area, and then he just scored sending the ball to the far post of the keeper.

It seemed Depor B was going to have a peaceful second part, but Coruxo sent a warning just three minutes after the pause, it was after a corner-kick from the right that defender José Manuel Suárez ‘Josiño’ headed into the back of the net. It was a collective error of Fabril’s defensive line, because Josiño was surrounded by three players, Karl, Seoane and Valle, while Edu was just standing in front of the goal.

But just seven minutes later Fabril restored the two-goal advantage, and it did it through Vela. The play started with a cross from Chirri that was deflected by a rival, then Juan Carlos collected the ball at the edge of the area to release a shot that again hit a rival, but this time the ball went to the box in slow motion and Vela was faster than anyone to collect it, elude the keeper and score from close range. Now the right winger has six goals with Fabril.

Then Ramallo started to make his substitutions and Valencia, Añon and Joshua entered to the pitch, and Coruxo scored a second goal when the game was close to the final whistle. Again through the aerial game, it was a high cross from the right headed by Jaimeat the far post, then striker Tomas Comesaña found the ball at the penalty spot to score the goal shooting between three defenders.

Deportivo B looks unstoppable ahead of the playoffs to Segunda B as it now accumulates eight straight wins; this time the squad had four Juvenil A players that were starters plus a couple of important absences, but the result was the same; actually the best players on the game were Diego Vela and Juan Carlos, duo from Juvenil A that scored the goals and that unlocked the game after a slow start; now the team of Ramallo visits Rápido Bouzas on Sunday (18h00 CET), the penultimate game on the regular season.

Comments of Tito Ramallo:, “It was a pretty game, it was useful to watch some players that have performed for less minutes, but that are pushing their team mates from the bottom. The contribution of the Juveniles has been good. Later Karl, who has spent a lot of time without playing, is gaining pace and looks powerful. I can only extract positive readings and one is that the team is hooked to the competition. That was one of the goals, once you are the champion you can end noticing a descent of the level of the team and today we gave options to other players, I believe that up to seven different players, and the team still connected. The true is that I’m happy with the team. This is the path to follow and should continue like this to reach the playoffs at 100%”
