Finally, after all the comments right winger Saúl Fernandez has signed his contract with Deportivo. It’s a three-year deal. The Asturian is coming for free and is reinforcing one of the weakest spots at the squad.

On Tuesday Saúl Fernandez signed his contract with Deportivo; the arrival of the 25-year-old right winger was known since May, but it was official until this week due to the problems that the player had with his former agent, Jorge Plaza.

The Asturian player visited La Coruña at the end of the past month ad passed the medicals, now he’s signing a three-year contract and will be presented on Thursday at the Riazor, same day in which the rest of the squad returns from vacations.

Saúl made his professional debut during the season 2005/06 at the B squad of Malaga FC (Segunda División). In May 2006, he debuted at the first squad as he played a couple of liga games against Sevilla FC and Cádiz CF. Later he had a small passage at Levante FC and ended up at Elche CF, club where he played 66 matches within the last two seasons.

On the past Segunda campaign, Saúl performed in 31 liga matches (2,144 minutes) scoring three goals and receiving six yellow cards. He is now arriving to Depor in order to strengthen the right wing, side where he will have the competence of Pablo Alvarez and new signing Jonathan Urreta.

It is the fourth signing ahead of the season 2010/11; and with the departure of Bodipo to Romania coach Miguel Angel Lotina has now twenty-eight players at his squad, which means that at least he has to discard three more men during the pre-season.
