Only a few footballers can presume of finding a quick adaptation at a new team, and one of those players is Ruben Perez. The midfielder was one of the best players in the Teresa Herrera and he’s already feeling comfortable at Depor’s squad.

Midfielder Ruben Pérez has just played two matches wearing Depor’s shirt, but he’s already feeling comfortable on the pitch. His work on the grass has been so good that he received an ovation at the Riazor when he was replaced during the second half of the match against Newcastle United.

The Andalusian midfielder was interviewed by Sportpaper AS and expressed his satisfaction with the reaction from the public, “When I was replaced, people recognized my work with applauses. I'm very happy for this detail and also for how the game was, but it hurts when you lose the trophy of the club. For now, everything goes well and I do not think of leaving Deportivo"

Later he explained where he likes to perform on the pitch, "All my life I have asked to be in constant contact with the ball, and if now is what Lotina asks, then it’s much better for me. What you saw is my game, but I always try to adapt it to what they ask. Lotina told me to go to midfield in order to receive the ball and start playing from there, and that's what I do. When I started at Atletico I played a little advanced on the pitch, later when I went to the first team they put me on the right wing, but I have almost always played as a midfielder."

But the near future of Ruben at Deportivo won’t be so easy, because of the competition at the centre of the pitch. The Andalusian will have to compete against Juca, Juan Rodriguez, Antonio Tomás and Juan Dominguez for a spot at the starting team, though for the moment he just want to talk of the present, “I just want to thank the public for their suppor;, I wish to be able to give back that love on the pitch.” He said.
