Lotina recovers Manuel Pablo, Guardado Colotto and Ruben Pérez, but Xisco and Valerón will have to wait for the clash against RCD Mallorca, while Morel is almost discarded. At Levante, Sergio is missing the clash at the Riazor.

Ahead of the match against Levante UD (Riazor, Sunday, 17h00 CET) coach Miguel Ángel Lotina announced changes at the lineup during his last press conference, and he will be able to make those modifications thanks to the return of four key players: central defender Diego Colotto, midfielder Rubén Pérez, left winger Andrés Guardado and right-back defender Manuel Pablo.

Colotto and Rubén Pérez missed the past game against RCD Espanyol due to suspension, while Manuel Pablo has been sidelined since the home game with Real Madrid due to a hamstring strain injury. The Canarian defender joined the trainings on Wednesday and, despite not completing the session on Thursday, it is know that he will be ready to face Levante.

Guardado, meanwhile, was rested during the past weekend as the doctors warned Lotina that it was too dangerous to use him after the Mexican played three games in the week before. He will be part of the starting formation, but it isn’t discarded that Depor’s coach is planning to replace him during the second half.

Ze Castro is also available after surpassing the quadriceps tendon injury that kept him at bay for the past meeting at Cornella-El Prat. However, the Portuguese won’t be part of the starting team, which isn’t a surprise as he has only played five matches on the liga season (371 minutes).

At the same time, Lotina is losing right winger Pablo Álvarez, who is suspended after been sent off in the past match with RCD Espanyol. Nether striker Xisco (groin strain) nor playmaker Juan Carlos Valerón (hamstring strain) will be available for the clash. The duo started to train on this week, but it’s too soon for them and Lotina doesn’t want to take more risks, especially since there aren’t liga matches on next week due to the international action with the national teams, so both players will have to wait for a fortnight.

Riki will also miss the match at the Riazor as he is just entering into the second week of his 1-month process recovery after suffering an adductor injury in the match against Real Sociedad. The return of the Madrilenian attacker is expected for the clash against Malaga CF (April 10), though he could have small options to be part of the game with RCD Mallorca (April 3)

And the latest casualty at the Galician team is  Claudio Morel, the left-back defender was doubtful for the past match against RCD Espanyol due to an adductor problem; he was close to miss the game but passed a late test and ended performing for the full ninety minutes. However the Paraguayan player is still dragging the same adductor problem and wasn’t able to complete Thursday’s training session. Now, despite not been discarded yet, it is accepted that he will probably miss Sunday’s game.

At Levante, coach Luis Garcia Plaza is having two casualties for the visit to Depor. The first one is ex-Deportivo captain Sergio Gonzalez, who has been out within the last three weeks due to a muscular problem. Meanwhile, left-back defender Asier Del Horno suffered a hamstring injury during the past match against RCD Mallorca and will also miss the clash.

But the Valencians will have their best attackers available for the clash, including Ecuadorian Felipe Caicedo, who is the seventh best scorer at Primera División with eleven goals scored on the liga season, plus ex-Osasuna man Valdo, who has scored twice since the start of the second half. Winger Jefferson Montero is also available after joining the team during the winter window coming loaned from Villarreal CF.

Levante it’s currently living its best moment on his five-year history at Primera División, because Los Granotes haven’t been defeated within the last four liga matchdays: 2-1 Vs Osasuna (matchday 25), 1-1 at Real Sociedad (matchday 26), 1-0 Vs RCD Espanyol (matchday 27) and 1-1 Vs. RCD Mallorca. For this reason they are currently five points above the relegation zone.
