Lendoiro admitted that the club will complete six or seven signings for next season, and one of the positions to reinforce is midfield. Jesús Vázquez and Diego Rivas are two of the candidates.

For the first time during the summer president Lendoiro has revealed the number of signings that the club is targeting for next season. He talked of six or seven incorporations depending on the exits; Depor already completed the first one with the arrival of Ayoze Diaz and the others are pending.

Depor’s boss didn’t explain the positions that he wants to reinforce, but there’s one exception: midfield. The president explained during his last press conference that the club is searching for a centre midfielder or pivote. He admitted the existence of a short list, and also admitted that the names of Diego Rivas (Real Sociedad, 31) and Jesús Vázquez (Recreativo, 31) could be part of the list.

Both men have been linked with Depor within the last weeks and their agents already admitted contacts with the Galician club. In the case of Diego Rivas his agent is Libero Parri and he told to reporters that Deportivo was offering a one-year contract, and that the player wanted two seasons. This has been the reason that extended the negotiations. He also said that his intention was to take a final decision on this week, but so far nothing has been announced.

Meanwhile, Jesús Vázquez was close to sign an extension of contract with Recreativo de Huelva lasting until the year 2016, but the interest of other clubs like Betis and Deportivo has stopped the negotiations. Tente Sánchez is his agent and it has been said that he was trying to offer the player to both Betis and Depor. In this case there are contradictory news, because in Huelva some papers comment that the midfielder still has three more years in his contract, something that’s denied by Tente Sánchez.
