It was a rumour on the past week that was confirmed on Tuesday: midfielder Rubén Pérez wants to leave Deportivo. It seems that his destiny is Getafe, while the Galicians could get Borja Fernandez plus some cash as part of the exchange.

Last Tuesday, midfielder Ruben Pérez joined the pre-season of Deportivo and immediately he was linked with a possible exit from the Galician club, all started after he requested a meeting with sporting director Ernesto Bello. Even coach José Luis Oltra confirmed the existence of the meeting, though nothing was commented about what was said, just that the player himself requested the reunion.

It was until Tuesday that the news was confirmed by Radio Cadena Ser: Rubén wanted to talk to Bello as he wants to leave Deportivo. The reason is that he wants to be noticed by the national coaches in order to be considered for the Summer Olympic Games in London 2012, and the Segunda division isn’t the right place for it, at least it is what the player believes, so he is asking to hear offers, all taking in mind that the Andalusian is loaned from Atletico Madrid until the end of the season 2011/12.

Weeks before Getafe had shown its interest in the player and the Madrilenians contacted Atletico Madrid in order to negotiate, but the tense negotiations with Deportivo in the case of Adrian stopped any action. Now the operation is flowing out again thanks to the will of the Andalusian player.

The desire of Rubén was confirmed by Lendoiro himself during the presentation of German Lux, “Rubén Pérez is requesting to allow his exit, and we all want to solve the issue on this week. The idea is that all the players that count for the coach wouldn’t leave, so we need to understand that any exit will only be possible if the operation is good for the club. I repeat: he will only leave if the operation is good for the club.”

Clearly Deportivo was reluctant to negotiate, but it has changed its mind after hearing the player. According Radio Cadena Ser Depor received an offer: to receive some cash and the zero-cost transfer of
Francisco de Borja Fernández (30, Getafe CF), this in order to cancel the loan contract of the player lasting until June of 2012.

Borja Fernández is a Galician veteran that already knows Segunda División as he performed for Real Valladolid; he is a confessed supporter of Depor and Celta that begun his career at Real Madrid Castilla and that managed to complete 38 liga appearances in la liga wearing the shirt of “Los Galacticos”. According to Radio Cadena Ser, Oltra already gave his permission to complete the operation.

However, Lendoiro said in his press conference that nothing is for granted at this point. No, there’s isn’t anything with Getafe, the agent and the same player have presented a petition and there is an offer, now we must study it and decide if we will accept it.”
