The exchange between Deportivo and Getafe for midfielders Ruben Pérez and Borja Fernandez is now blocked; there are worries about the physical condition of Getafe’s player and Depor is studying other options.

On Friday it seemed that the operation for midfielder Borja Fernandez was close to be completed; the 30-year-old midfielder travelled to La Coruña and passed the medicals. During the day some radios and newspapers in La Coruña were speculating that the player didn’t past the medicals, but it isn’t true, what happened is that the Galician man went through surgery on May 25.

The operation was made in order to correct a groin problem that Borja was dragging since some months ago, he is already fine, but he can’t play football for the next four weeks. This means that the player is unfit and that he’ll have to follow a special routine in order to be ready as soon as possible. The problem is that Borja could miss the first two months of competition as he needs time, not only to be ready to play, but to adapt to a new team.

This is the reason why Deportivo is now thinking twice about completing the move, because the arrival of Borja was going to be a loan for one season. Oltra already approved the signing, but Lendoiro is stepping back as he fears to sign a player that won’t be able to play for Deportivo.

Meanwhile, Ruben Pérez still concentrated with the first team; he played in the friendly against Real Oviedo and travelled to Castile and Leon in order to face Rayo Vallecano (today, 19h00 CET). Depor won’t move him until Lendoiro decides the next move.

It was reported that Getafe and Deportivo have reached an initial agreement to exchange the loan of Ruben Pérez and Borja Fernandez; a deal that was going to include a payment in favour of Deportivo. Now the operation is blocked until Depor decides what to do. Radio Galega even speculates that Lendoiro could attempt to negotiate for another player of Getafe.
