Andrés Guardado has been linked with a move to Juventus FC; it’s just the eleventh club mentioned as a possible destiny for the Mexican winger. The true is that so far Depor has only received two offers, both insufficient for Lendoiro.

During Thursday several websites in Italy were reporting about the interest of Juventus FC on Andrés Guardado. According to the sources La Vecchia Signora is ready to pay between €6 and €7 million for the Mexican winger, who has been on the transfer market after the relegation to Segunda and as his contract rules out in June of 2012.

But the true is that the president Lendoiro has found less interest of what he was expecting to see in this devalued market, this despite that Guardado was already linked with other ten clubs: FK Spartak Moscow, Olympique Lyonnais, Olympique Marseille, FC Schalke 04, Borussia Dortmund BvB, Sporting Clube de Portugal, SL Benfica, Atletico Madrid, Villarreal CF and even with Mexican giant CF America.

What happens is that despite all the noise, Depor has only received two propositions for the high-rated player; one was coming from Russia (apparently from FK Spartak Moscow) and the other from Portugal (Sporting Clube de Portugal). Lendoiro himself confirmed it, and also that both were rejected as they were “insufficient” It has been commented that Depor is requesting at least €6 million in the operation

And now is rumoured that Juventus is willing to pay between €6 and €7 million; the Mexican is the third option for the left wing, though the other two choices are more expensive: Diego Perotti (for whom Sevilla is requesting 7.5 million Euros) and Eljero Elia (for whom Hamburg SV is requesting 8 million Euros).

In any case, Lendoiro only has twelve days if he wants to sell him in the summer market, if not he will have to try to convince him to sign a renewal in order to recover part of the €7 million that were invested back in 2007. The player has said that he won’t have any problem to stay at Deportivo and fight for the promotion to Primera, but at the same time his agent is refusing any negotiation in order to extend his contract.

So, it’s a pretty difficult case for Lendoiro; the Mexican will surely be a valuable resource for new coach Oltra, but at the same time Depor can’t afford to lose the money spent in the most expensive signing made within the last five years.

Guardado was picked by Mexico’s national team for two friendly matches: the first against Poland in Warsaw (September 2) and the second against Chile in Barcelona (September). That weekend is a FIFA date, so the winger is forced to accept the call. The problem for Deportivo is that, as the major part of the Segunda clubs don’t have international players, the liga Adelante isn’t stopped during the FIFA dates. And it results that in that weekend Deportivo hosts Hércules CF at the Riazor, so the player will end missing the meeting against one of the expected direct rivals for the promotion spots.
