Transfer news

It is widely believed that the conversations that will take place this evening/night between Sergio and the Espanyol board will be decisive. In other news, Depor continues to follow Fernado Belluschi while Alexis has joined Getafe.

Time is running out for an agreement on S?©rgio’s future. Some newspapers state that the agreement between Sergio and Espanyol is almost total, others state the complete opposite: that the positions are very far away. The only sure thing is that the Sergio’s agent, his father Avelino Gonz??lez, will continue negotiating with Espanyol and that today is the deadline set by the Espanyol board.

There are various problems and every part seems to have to contribute to make the deal work. The first problem is the amount of money that Depor still owes to Sergio. Either Lendoiro agrees to pay that amount or Sergio renounces the claim.

Another problem seems to be that Espanyol’s general manager Pedro Tom??s has offered S?©rgio an annual salary of 1,2 million Euro, an amount that surpasses the €1 million mark the Espanyol board has set for its players. However, there are reasons to hope for an agreement on this aspect. Yesterday, one of Espanyol’s sponsors and shareholders, Antonio Mart?n, said that all have to â€?put an extra effortâ€? to make the transfer work.

This extra effort could very well be that the board members invert some of their own money, a method that was already used several times by Mart?n and his co-members Daniel S??nchez Llibre and Sebasti??n Javier. Like this, the transfers of Zabaleta, Luis Garc?a or Eduardo Costa were completed.

Another urging issue seems to be the arrival of Fernando Belluschi. Next week the pre-season starts for Boca Juniors and thus for Belluschi. However, sources from his present club Newell’s Old Boys, confirmed that if Depor’s offer convinced both his old club Newell’s and his new club Boca, Belluschi wouldn’t stay in Argentina, but move to La Coru?±a.

Boca paid €1,5 million for an undisclosed percentage of the transfer rights for Belluschi. However, the club’s president Mauricio Macri wouldn’t put any obstacles to Belluschi leaving for Deportivo if the right offer came along, since Boca’s coach Alfio Basile considers the right wing position well covered with Daniel Bilos.

After several weeks of uncertainty, it was finally know the new club of Alexis Ruano: Getafe. The Madrilian club will pay €3 million in a operation that includes the incorporation of Nacho. The same Alexis confirmed the news to Sportpaper AS: "It was difficult to find an exit from M??laga. It was the club in which I debuted and now Getafe will be my second home. I had offers from Depor, Valencia or Sevilla, but I preferred this one. Some friends of mine like Albiol, Gavil??n, Alberto or G??iza  invited me to come. Besides the president of the club called me in order to join the team. I'm sure that this is the best option for me."
