Lendoiro announced that the second signing would arrive on this week, for now the club still searching for one centre back, one left winger and two strikers; the number of arrivals could change depending on the exits.

President Augusto César Lendoiro was pretty clear when he talked of new signings during his visit to Madrid for the draw of the liga calendar, “I believe the team started the pre-season with only one new arrival, the true is that there are three, though two of them were already there and were ending contract. We will keep working and there will be one signing on this week. We aren’t going to give names, neither for good nor bad, but simply we’re going to close one more arrival.”

Later, the president talked at Radio ABC and said that the club will at least sign three or four more players for the new season; once again he confirmed that one the operations will be completed on this week, and even said that it could be two signings, though he referred to this last as “two small signings.”

There are no clues on who this signing will be, within the last two days a lot has been said about left winger/playmaker Luís Miguel Afonso ‘Pizzi’ (22); on Tuesday it was known that he has ended his link with SC Braga and was about to sign for Quality Sports Investment, one of the companies related to Jorge Mendes.

Atletico Madrid is also trying to get the 50% of his rights, but instead of joining the Madrilenian club the goal is to loan out the player, and the two clubs wanting to get the player are Depor and Real Zaragoza. Actually, Pizzi himself already admitted in an interview in Portugal that Depor and Zaragoza are interested in him.

Apart from the case with Pizzi, Depor still linked with central defenders Pedro Geromel (26, 1. FC Köln), Sidnei Rechel da Silva (22, SL Benfica) and Junior Rodriguez (28, Sporting CP); these operations are also pending on the relation with Jorge Mendes. Another player that still linked with the Galician outfit is striker Diego Costa (23, Atletico Madrid), though Lendoiro said in the radio interview at ABC that the club is looking for other targets.

Finally the number of signings could be bigger than five in case of completing more exits at the first team; Lendoiro has ruled out the possibility of sells, but not of players going out loaned, that’s the case of the younger players at the first team: David Rochela, Diego Seoane and Juan Carlos. their exits could lead to complete more signings in order to fill the gaps.
